K GOVINDARAJAN
Sindhu @ World Badminton Championship
by K GOVINDARAJAN on Aug 30, 2017 08:35 AM

Sindhu got leads in all three sets but could not maintain them. Her opponent was mostly returning and not taking chances but moving well in the court. Sindhu could have used her deadly smashes to unsettle the opponent.A missed chance to get the Gold but well done

Sindhu lose of gold medal
by mr c on Aug 29, 2017 09:49 AM

It is really sad she narrowly missed gold. As a Badminton player personally Ifeel Sindhu was not delivering smashes which she could have with her height advantages making the game slower for the opponent to recover. I believe she needs to change her format as per need of the hour.Congratulations Sindhu for the Siver and hoping for Gold next.

Referee let go when Okuhara was not ready for Sindu's serve
by Raghavendra Ravi on Aug 28, 2017 03:14 PM

referee handed Sindhu a yellow card when she was late to the court, but did not haul up Okuhara when she was not ready when Sindhu served - that one point would have given gold to Sindhu !!
May be I am missing something .

It will better if you smile and have animated face while playing
by Bharath on Aug 28, 2017 01:57 PM

By seeing final match, now we can say Indian can produce world class athletes. You may loose the match, but you have hugely successful in further lifting up the badminton craze in India. Like your father said Okuhara played just above her standards. You could have won the match if you have hold your nerve in crucial times. It will better if you smile and have animated face while playing, which is clearly visible in your opponent face.
Having cool mind set while playing will do wonders for you, its better your approach MS Dhoni, how to tackle tough situations will calm mind.
After a long time Indians witnessed a good match.
Better luck next time

BADMINTON VS CRICKET
by JITEN HAZARIKA on Aug 28, 2017 01:47 PM  | Hide replies

OF LATE BADMINTON HAS FLOURISHED IN INDIA DUE TO SINGLE HANDED EFFORTS BY SAINA ANS PUSARLA AND ABLE TO FLY HIGH OUR TRICOLOR UNLIKE CRICKET WHICH IS NOT RECOGNISED INTENTIONALLY BUT GIVEN MORE IMPORTANCE IN INDIA BECAUSE OF MONEY INVOLVED IN IT. oNE BADMINTON GOLD OR SILVER MUCH MORE RECOGNISED THAN THOUSANDS OF CRICKET GOLDS. WE LOVE SINDHU, SAINA, GOPICHAND, PRAKASH, VISHWANATHAN ETE. MUCH MORE THAN SO CALLED CRICKET HEROES.

Well fought Sindu
by Dams on Aug 28, 2017 12:29 PM

I really though you played really well,, but one suggestion for you, don't lose your energy in shouting, which you did a lot, please keep it within, it will help you in winning this kind of crucial matches because storing energy is important, believe me.
