What has Sachin done for the sport after retirement? In comparison, look at Kumble, Ganguly and Dravid... how committed they are in serving the sport that gave them name, fame and loads of money.

nobody i the world has the right to question sports person or for that matter any individual what he does after retirement. nothing came free for tendulkar. he worked hard from his childhood earned the name, fame and money. its is his personal decision to contribute to game or not after retirement. then what is your call on all those india who have left india and settled abroad. what are they doing to the mother land which gave them education, nationality etc.
The very fact that the citizens do not beleive that Sachin will pay for the gift is a pointer to Sachin's requests in the past for non payment of customs duty for the car he was gifted, reprieve from homologation of the same car. BMW has pulled off a great one, getting Sachin to gift the car. This PR has cost them peanuts. But did they bargain for the controvery, your guess is as good as mine.
Does it matter whose money it is ? There is no free lunch in world so who so ever sponsored for this has to get something back and that they got through advertisement. The good thing is encouragement . so its a win win situation for both. What is important the same encouragement has to be done in every fied wether that is Players or martyres or soldeiers...

Fully agree with you. Perhaps public have forgotten SRT's request to GOI to waive off customs duty for his Ferrari car. Headlines should have read SRT " hands over " or " delivers" rather than " gave away" which implies SRT paid for it. R. Sivasankaran
Whether BMW paid for it or Sachin, does it matter for those who received it? If they can't afford the running cost, they obviously can sell it and pocket 40 lacs plus (assuming they all got a 3 series). So what is the problem? I don't think the winners would mind if someone give them 50 lacs each and make some publicity on the way.

NO DOUBT SPORTS PERSONS HAVE TO BE ENCOURAGED, BUT DO WE SHOW SUCH ENTHUSIASM WHEN A SOLDIER DIES FOR THE COUNTRY AND WHEN A FARMER DIES, AFTER ALL HE FEEDS THE COUNTRYMEN. THOSE WINNING MEDALS CAN THEMSELVES BUY CARS
I feel and think that Shobaa De do not know how to appreciate the achievers she should learn this, if she cant , must go back to LKG/ Night school in Mulund or Dadar. At least please learn from there they will teach!!!

News as given is making fool of public.It should be clear while gifting that who paid money.Sachin who getrs gifts from other not look possible for this and if so why such false credit planned.
The Lady has grown Old and haggard and so to still stay in the limelight she is doing all this. High time people stopped paying any attention to her. If she had any feelings she would have gifted something to the Medal winners. All gas and no go. Please keep such snobs out of the media glare.
