This is a great pic since none of our choo** politicians are in the picture.
Keep up the good work Sakshi & Sindhu and don't attend any "felicitation" functions hosted by politicians and please refuse state-wise price money which will follow.
If each state can spend money, let them use it to nurture more sports people.
While there is a lot of attention being showered on Sindhu and Sakshi as medal winners, I think that Dipa's performance needs equal mention and support.

Q : But how are they Olympic champions???? Isn't a gold medallist called Olympic champion??
A : Since we don't have any gold medallist,we have to pretend that any medal winner is a champion.Pity ourselves. As long as there is cricket, the soap masala serial of sports,India is not going to shine in true sports.

totally agree with you. The medal tally is a reflection of the athletes, the system (including the media) of our country. Media must choose words carefully.. not throw around the title Olympic champion like in this title. Commend them as Olympic medallists, reserve the champion title for Tokyo.

But don't forget for every success of woman there is a man. Gopichand is a Coach of PV Sindhu and Dahiya for Sakshi. Her grooming was helped along by having to fight a lot of boys.

All credit for Badminton in modern India goes to the truely forgotten legend, the legend of legends, shri Prkash Padukone; now known only on his daughter Deepika's fame. When nobody knew about Badminton in India, he won the All England Championship. Syed Modi, AmiGhia all followed.

ok. Prakash Padukone was a legend. He inspired a lot of people. But what did he do to Badminton after retirement? Compare to what Gopichand has done. Saina, Sindu, P Kashyap, K Srikanth, Guru Sai dutt.. and the list goes on. I am sad to say that Prakash Padukone's only contribution after retirement to India is Deepika Padukone :-(
