Sania is getting votes on the basis of her higher Glamour Quotient (GQ).Otherwise,face of Indian sports is Saina Nehiwal. Sania is just a doubles player. Even PV Sindhu is a better performer. Or even Vijender Singh.

You are correct and apart from this Sania married to Cricket player and I do not know about which nations she belongs. She is good player and I respect her but on legal grounds she belongs to where now
Sania Mirza's effort is not an individual effort, where as in the case of Saina and others it is their individual effort. Sania owes her victory to the well experienced Martina Hingis. I have been watching the tennis fixtures in which Indian players feature and can emphatically say that the contribution to victory in the Sania-Hingia matches, is 70% by Hingis and 30% by Sania

Playing as team is sport and the real benefit of sports. Individual sports are like race and won on different criteria.
Saina is beating the Top shuttlers in singles in one of the most physically demanding sport. I play both Tennis & Badminton at a good level & I can vouch that what Saina has achieved in 2015 is way ahead of anyone in sports in India.
Not taking anything away from anyone or critising their achievements i think it shoulkd be given to that player who has done it alone i.e without a team or a partner.Because while playing alone you are on your own and while playing as a team or a double you have someone to fall back upon.In such circumstances it is either Saina or Advani
Saina should be way a head to Sania in this poll, its very poor, pupil selected Sania over Saina, look out at the competition in badminton its very hard to beat top 10 players, you need to focus more and put more efforts while playing with top 10 players. Sania when playing in doubles, she will be having the support from fellow players and mistakes done by her while playing wont effect much. Its very much clear Saina is more talented among listed players here.
Sania Mirza, Mahesh Bhupati both are nothing without there partner. So i think they dont deserve to be in this list. There is no doubt that they make us proud. but in compare to others their individual performance without partner are poorer than others.

The race for sports person not for team. Without her partner sania is zero. see her singles titles. where as sania nehwal got the recognition for her singles matches. undoubtedtly it should be sania nehwal
