Sania Mirza, Mahesh Bhupati both are nothing without there partner. So i think they dont deserve to be in this list. There is no doubt that they make us proud. but in compare to others their individual performance without partner are poorer than others.

The race for sports person not for team. Without her partner sania is zero. see her singles titles. where as sania nehwal got the recognition for her singles matches. undoubtedtly it should be sania nehwal
Say arrange for most corrupt player of India... first name will be Azhar Then there will be a few doping scandals... and a few other potential scam tainted like Dhoni, etc. Azhar will win hands down in that!
Most of our countrymen do not understand the nuances of sports, they are only enthusiast. They do not analyse the games and only goes by glamour. Sania mirza is a doubles player. No matter how successful you are in doubles, playing singles is not sania's cup of tea. she is even not fit to play singles. Look at the top singles players. Do they play doubles? And when they play doubles? When in the twilight of their career.
On the other side look at Saina. In a games that is almost double faster that tennis, fighting the power house like China, denmark like countries, rising to no. 1 in world ranking is light years ahead of the achievemnet that sania(only glam doll) achieved. Now our countrymen rate that higher! What apity!!!!
- She is only a doubles player... not the full skill by herself as Saina or others! - I doubt if Hingis is not fher partner, if she can proceed to win at all.

I have never seen or found Sania play and win for the country! Let her do that a few times first as Leander has done!
Both Sania Mirza and Saina Nehwal have TRULY MADE INDIAN WOMEN PROUD with their SCINTILLATING AND PATH BREAKING as well as GRAND SLAM WINNING PERFORMANCES! So for me its a TIE between SAINA NEHWAL and SANIA MIRZA!

M or no M, it is Saina not Sania. Badminton is much more faster game than Tennis. And Saina played for the country but Sania palayed for money. It is Saina.
