day light robbery
by anand zawar on Sep 30, 2014 03:48 PM

that is a clear case of day light robbery. I have seen every second of that bout and was about to break the tv set. That was a sure shot gold medal that was robbed from India cause the chinese boxer that has entered the final is weak infront of sarita devi as well. these judges should be thrown out of the games and India should take this matter far far ahead seriously. In the end, extrememly sorry Sarita devi, you fought like a champion and were a deserving winner by a mile. After the medals ceremony just walk off with your medal as a mark of disrespect to the host country. Keep practising, that korean boxer is around the corner and would come your way someday.

Koreans and their attitude
by madhu Singh on Sep 30, 2014 03:01 PM

If it's boxing in a home match, Koreans will go to any lengths to win. From not accepting losses gracefully to fixing bouts like this, this is behaviour with a history behind it. Shame!

Injustice to Sarita Devi & India
by Siladitya Bose on Sep 30, 2014 02:44 PM

The International Referee Association should be ashamed for this incident. India should file a case as this is a National insult. All the future events of this game shall be attended with protest from India.

Please understand the spirit of his words. When he said about the $500, he definitely would have meant that there is no use in appealing to this panel of judges than merely losing money and nothing more needs to be attributed to it . This has become a serious problem with our countrymen to latch on to something so trivial and forgetting the main issue. Yes we should go to International Boxing Council and make a case against this and let them see the recording and decide who should be given the win since the point system is so objective

Even though Korean standard of living is on par with developed world, Koreans are known to be extremely corrupt. Money surely must have played in a big role. Most Korean companies that set up operations worldwide are known to buy their way out of processes.

its not surprising in S.Korea
by s kumar on Sep 30, 2014 02:18 PM

The judges favour the local contestant in s.korea. It happened to Shiny wilson in seoul . Well done Saritha devi ! you are the clear winner ! it should, be protested and we have to stand by our sportperson 200% ...

Why stepping back from lodging complaint?
by Madhusudan Tandale on Sep 30, 2014 02:16 PM  | Hide replies

If our authorities are so confident of her performance, why they are retracting back from appealing for the sake of only $500? It is another big demoralizing act from administrators, especially for the young upcoming boxer. Put confidence in her and lodge appeal. Dear Administrator, if you are falling short of money, make an appeal to us... we will definitely support you.

Errors in Judging to be protested
by rajbir pawar on Sep 30, 2014 01:58 PM  | Hide replies

India's long time Cuban coach IB Fernandes saying that the protest that will cost the Indian contingent $ 500 and will be forfeited if the appeal was lost.
Why India can't afford such a small amount in such a clear case, being a sports lover, even I am ready from my side to pay the amount if authorities go ahead for the protest and FYI the protest was lodged by US in a bout concerning Indian boxer VIKAS KRISHNAN,who was declared winner and after the protest by US officials,it was again reviewed and after several hours the result was reversed in London Olympics 2012,so can the Indian officials don't have that courage.Pls go ahead and you will have all sportsman confidence and support,it's time for show for the officils, otherwise what is the use for such long contingent of officials travelling with the sportspersons.

Our Coach Fernandes is right not to challenge the decision as we all know what will be the outcome. When a clear winner is declared loser you cant expect fairness in review.Same was case with Shiny wilson she won 800 mt rrace with a big margin but they disallowed her for cutting the lane, now when an Indian was to win a medle they did not hear our protest in 3000m women steeplechase.

In that case,at least they can claim that cutting across the lane was a disqualification within the rules as happened with Shiny Wilson in 1986 in 800 mtrs, but I am talking about the same sport,BOXING where in the casr was reviewed and later after the review, the result was reversed in Olympics,or you can say that the beneficiary in that case was a US boxer. So why not now.FYI I am on ship and have not awtched this bout, but going by the various reviews,it shows that Indian was a clear winner and the officials should lodge a protest.

We must protest. $500 does not matter. We should not accept the injustice
