Cheating
by anil gupta on Sep 30, 2014 06:55 PM

I had seen the live telecast of the bout and was stunned to see the result. No doubt this is pure cheating and when in Korea, I think we should not taking it lying low.

tjudges in the boxing arena should be thrown out
by pasupathy mahadevan on Sep 30, 2014 06:07 PM

I was watching this particular bout on TV this morning and I was so confident that sarita devi of India was so superior fighting the korean boxer thru out> but when the judges declared that the korean boxer has won on points< I was really taken aback. No these judges are a real disgrace for the entire tournament and they should be debarred for the future asian games... mahadevan

It happened in one of the earlier matches too involving an indian male boxer. The korean was just swinging his arms in bizarre fashion and not even striking the Indian. But at the end the Indian corner was more confident but the bout was awarded to the Korean. I had mentioned then that it is a bias for the south koreans.

Read the name of referees and you will notice why they gave decesions against India.

Lots of malpractices these days even in world class sports.
by Rahul Ta on Sep 30, 2014 05:01 PM  | Hide replies

This is clearly a case of results been manipulated. I was shocked to see the result was given in favour of the Korean boxer. She was totally bashed up by our Indian player. Even earlier, when our ace boxer Vijendar Singh was interviewed during the Olympics Games(Year-2008), he had said in an interview, that his final opponent (was Cuban), had used seams of his boxing gloves to gain the edge and injure and eventually defeat Vijendar, in the final to take away the gold, and we had to settle for silver. Sad to see our players, losing because of these irregularities even at the world level sports. There may have been several other such cases where we may have lost out to other favourites by biased decisions. These matters should be reported very vehemently at official level else we will lose out our future wins and discourage the sports community of our nation.

It is called favouritism. Judges are sold at premium rate.

Dear Rahul,
Vijender was never a Silver medalist is Olympics,he had lost to Correa of Cuba in 2008 Beijing Olympics in the semi-finals but was a clear loser that time.FYI Correa's father was also an Olympic Gold medalist in 1972,but good for your concern in this case.

Media has no time to report all this for any other sport other than IPL and cricket. Just imagine all day no news channel flashed the Men's hockey team enter the final. Thats how concerned they are.
