Who caused more damage to Sarita's career?
by adf asdfi on Oct 22, 2014 03:23 PM

Is it the judgement at Asian Games or AIBA? Why don't such sports people get encouragement???

Suspend The Corrupt Match Officials Instead Of Ms.Sarita Devi
by Sumith Thomas on Oct 22, 2014 03:22 PM

AIBA had taken a decision which is not appropriate for the development of that sport. Instead of suspending the athlete, they should have watched that bout once again and take the appropriate action by suspending the judges who had been in charge of that match. That will be the most appropriate decision in this case.

Our Government Is Not Supporting Our Sporting Personalities
by Sumith Thomas on Oct 22, 2014 03:19 PM

Its really sad to say that our government is not supporting our star Ms.Sarita Devi in this situation. We have to take the examples of the rulers in Bahrain and Qatar. When the Bahrain athlete was disqualified for the 1,500mts race, the king of Bahrain interfered in that matter and later she was awarded the gold medal for that event and while Qatar women basket ball players made the boycott in the so called hijab row, their government and players stood by their side. But its a sad scenario in the case of an Indian athlete, no one had supported her neither the players or the officials of the Indian teams.

Now unfortunately she got suspended, I don't know when will our government support our athletes. I like to say that our ministers are only interested in the most corrupted game "CRICKET". This is really a sad situation for Indian athletes other than cricketers.

Toilet paper.

I had seen that fight.
Sarita Devi had beaten her opponent black n blue. Her opponent was trying to running away from her in the ring throughout the fight.
But judges declared Sarita Devi a looser.

Now they are doubling the pressure by suspending Sarita Devi.
Its a shame that Indian Govt. is not supporting Sarita Devi.
Indians will be treated like toilet paper in future also because the It proves the govt. has no spine to protest such incidents. It has not much will to protect it's citizens.

Modi Ji... r u listening ?

@MrKhurshidAlam ---- First what happened is bad and unfair. But what Saritha did was also not good. IF she didn't want to take the medal, she should have not gone to the medal ceremony. Yes she was robbed off the medal, but what she did was not justified in any manner.-------------------I find it funny that for every issue you guys want only our PM to act. You think this is the first time KOREA cheated ? Check out boxing legend Sugar Ray Robinson. He outpunched his korean opponent by over 3 times and was robbed by the same koreans. ------------You think the American president went to the boxing association to protest against the cheating ? Please grow up.

@MrKhurshidAlam ---- Yep, there are multiple such instances. They cheat to the core. Funny thing is I expected the North Koreans to be cheats and not South Koreans. ---- but then again the north koreans haven't been provided with an opportunity to cheat yet. ----- But yeah, Boxing rules need to be changed for the better asap. Probably something on the lines of how rules were tweaked for martial arts competition could help

Boot out corruption in sport rather than penalize the hardwork
by sumit bose on Oct 22, 2014 02:39 PM  | Hide replies

Time to take a hard stance against AIBA and show to the world that India won't bent and will stand behind its boxers. AIBA should investigate and stamp out corruption amongst its officials rather than penalize the hard work of the boxers. Shame on AIBA and down with any SAI sports official who cannot stand in support of Sarita.

@Sumit Bose ----- The AIBA does not depend on our patronage. This is boxing and not cricket where we can throw in our weight
