Sarode: First try to read the comments before jumping on your keyboard
Even if she was wronged, she must take it in her stride. great players have bounced back from bad decisions. she was really unprofessional and immature in her reaction. hooe she learns to deal with this better.

You should be ashamed to post such a comment....it is because of niincompohops and hypocrite cowards like you that our nation is in such a mess..........why should she not protest?? And the Indian officials are obviously only interested in the free holiday to Seoul(On Indian taxpayers money), they are their families...who has time for a poor girl from north east India? If they support her, they would be deported back with their families and their free holiday to South Korea will be wasted....i sincerely hope that people like you and these officials who supposedly represent the Indian athletes should be burned alive in public......

i concur you with my whole heart.. we have to change our behaviour and our attitude. If something happens to my near and dear ones, we dont first ask question. We stand by them first. We can do analysis later. similarly We have to standby by her as this is such a frustrating situation for her. Even for lodging a protest, she has to arrange $500 on her own. not sure why our officials at all accompany athletes for such events.
First kick out the Nincomp00pOfficials who have accompanied Indian Team to Korea, They are aJ0ke almost seeming to be CheerleadersForK0reans and criticising our own brave fighter.

SHAME ON ORGANISERS even a child which has seen her fight wil agree that SARITA DEVI had won the bout! lot of nepotism for koreans. they seemed to hav bought the judges! 7 koreans have won GOLD MEDALS in boxing through favoritism for korean boxers! it shows how the koreans have succeeded in getting GOLD medals for their country by buying the judges!
what bad precedence is this bl@@dy international top boxer is talking about do protesting against injustice is a bad precedence?? sarita have done absolutely right . i want to ask this D0_n_k_e_y ex boxer what precedence has these bunch of cheater(referee) have left unless n until we Indian fight n raise our voice against the ill treatment it will never stop ... i would urge india should have called its whole boxing contingent back
Who is this Idiot top international boxer, who is criticizing Sarita Devi ?.... That fool should know that fight is to win, not to suffer humiliation after wining...
I totally disagree with the headline. Everybody has his/her right to accept or reject awards/medals etc. for various reasons. Jean-Paul Sartre even rejected the Nobel prize. Sarita rejected the bronze medal to protest against injustice. She meant no disrespect, otherwise she could have refused to come to the award ceremony itself. She was perfectly correct and within her rights to reject the medal. Some one must speak up, which she did and how! I am with her.

Different people, Different interpretations. Whatever, a protest has been registered either rightfully or wrongfully.
I thought she could have accepted the medal rather gracefully and let the organizers face the music through an official protest from Indian sports ministry..
She also meant disrespect to silver medalist by hanging around a bronze..
Having said that all you've a perfect right to voice your opinion.. Totally fine Nasim..

@Mike Teflon:
I find it strange that you consider Sarita's action to be "disrespectful and not graceful"
Does that silver medalist Jina Park deserve any respect? If she (Jina Park) has any iota of self-respect and respect for the sport she lives for, she should admit the truth -- that she lost and does not deserve the silver medal.

You may have a point.....but here the bout was totally in Sarita's favor. It was a very clear case of bias.....

With Due respect to our Boxer Sarita Devi, we must understand that the most of us are basing our opinion on the media report and vedeo but we are not competent to take a decision on this matter correctly unless we hear from a veteran Boxer who knows the rules of the game. We must take expert opinion before we put our opinion. This is something to understand

People who reported this are not fools. Experts are the referees who are retards and should be hanged.
