its hard to belive he remembers the winning sequence for QGD for more than 25 moves played earlier.
chess is not supposed to be mugging games.

Mr Dhantanan it is not about mugging He has to understand the idea and logic behind every move so that when he his opponent deviates from 'book' he knows how to continue

Whats the use of such genuis

what is the use of such genius. He stays in Spain as he does not like to stay in India. For last 15 yrs we are listening his name. Other than playing whats his contribution to society. Neither in eduction, talent development or sports, he has no contribution. A simple waste.

you are ignorant. Anand is indian citizen. it doesn't matter where he lives, whole world knows he is an indian and represent India except few ignorant indians. Anand lives in Spain because there is more scope for chess there. there are more chess tournaments. he can't live in India and every month travel to and from India and Europe.

as you are an ignorant, you are not aware of his contribution. first of all he has bring world championship title 5 times to india.. he has revolutionalised chess in india. india is getting world recognition at least in one sports because of Vishy.

he is part of chess in schools campaign. and successfully make chess as a compulsary subject in schools of Gujarat and Tamilnadu.

he is also active in social services like fight against aids.

i cant write everything about him, you can google for more info..

first of all India won bronze in the recent Olympiad by coming 3rd out of 177 countries participated. this news didnt get any coverage by indian media. so, India don't consider recognising the achievement but jumps on why Vishy dont play.. Carlsen was playing for Norway but can't bring any medal.. Carlsen lost 20 rating points that he still not able to recover.. rating is an important factor.. Anand is not satisfy with the Olympiad system.. so, he dont plays..

It is probably to give the younger generation a chance to play and build their games.

Anand through his 5 world championship victories, have contributed to Indian chess tremondously, and boosted the image of Indian sportsmanship worldwide.

This should be understood in the context of Kasparov's remark regarding Anand," 'Imagine if Anand was actually born in the Soviet Union; how much more dangerous he would have become.'

Excellent display of characters, focus and determination by Anand in game 3.

Magnus Carlsen refused to resign and continued to play till the clock ticked out, which showed him in a poor light. When he knew he had no chance, he shouldn\'t have done that. Will he learn to have proessioanlly ?
