Hope Djoker gets the year end No.1
Nadal has a lot of points to defend in the coming hard court season and its going to be difficult for Nadal to get back to the top rank.

As long as it's not Federer whos no.1 or winning the slams, I don't care who it is. Federer should not win that's enough.

Federer has won enough. He need not prove to anyone anything. Fede fans are already satisfied with his achievements. He is the GOAT.

Its only Nadal who has to still win a lot to match Federer and he will not be able to do that.

Djokovic back at # 1
by Anuraug Rathor on Jul 08, 2014 11:36 AM  | Hide replies

Rafa's stay at # 1 ends... he has 141 weeks at the top and Federer had been # 1 for 302 weeks, just shows the greatness of Fede.

I don't think Nada will ever get to the # 1 ranking again. The young guns, Nishikori, Dimitrov, Raonic, Gulbis have matured and now we have Kyrgois.

Weeks at no.1 reflects quality of opposition and we all know what it was in GHAT's early days.
If there was no Nole or Murray Rafa have been no.1 for 400 weeks and already had 18-19 slams.
What you think means nothing. You 'thought Rafa wouldn't win another slam when he was injured and he already has 4 more.

Nothing can be taken away from the quality of the opposition... it has remained the same throughout.... Fede made the opposition look easy.. it was his greatness. In his prime 2004 - 2008 it showed he was invincible.

No I don't agree with that Anuraug. Hewitt, Safin, Nalbandian, Roddick all together won less slams than Nole alone.. and Nole is at 50% of Nadal inspite being same age. There is no question that Fede had it easy in his early years.

You can think whatever you want to think, that Fede had it easy ans so on.... it will always be inconclusive and a judgement can never be reached..

There is no question that the Big 4 have dominated tennis for the past 7 years... But before that there was only Big 1 ... i.e Federer, who in his prime was so great that he just didn't let the opponents win... no wonder they appear as weak now.

You sound like a sore loser.

Its just your opinion which says Fede had it easy.

But don't forgot the majority don't think that way. Federer was voted the greatest in rediff poll recently.

Anuraug the nadal fan, you sound like a sore loser as far as # 1 weeks is concerned.

Nadal is yet to win a single ATP WTF title... He will never win it and will also be never called the GOAT.

In that case lets also consider the Olympics which is more prestigious and older even than Wimbledon. And your idol has ZERO golds in that.

Tennis contemplating a stop clock or stop watch
by NashikMarathi on Jul 07, 2014 10:16 PM  | Hide replies

Measure the 24 seconds at ATP events between points - as per rules
Measure the 20 seconds at the Grand Slams between points - as per rules

Any "ANY" infringement is warning once, thereafter loss of first serve, point penalty etc.

Clock starts after ump announces count of prev point.

Follow the rules and stop the time wasting.

The hearing for the clock is in August?????

Yeah John was right... Nadal is the toughest competitor losing to a newbie teenager at 4R, before that to Brown at Halle.

To the Federer fans...
by Anuraug Rathor on Jul 07, 2014 10:16 AM  | Hide replies

It's better to avoid those jibes at Nadal and concentrate on the match, which was a very good one.
You have the choice of being civil which I will also reciprocate , or being insulting which I will retaliate in full force. I will ignore Nashikturds first few msgs but any further insult to Nadal and his fans, and the retaliation will be swift and firm.
I suggest we all be courteous and debate tennis decently, or else if you want it the way it has been all these days that's fine too. The ball is in your court, because Nashikghati started it yet again by bringing in Nadal on a page which has nothing to do with him.

I'm not here to be known to Nadal or Federer or anybody. It doesn't matter to me if I'm known to or not known to anybody.
You are the idi0t.If you don't know about something, it's better to keep your mouth shut rather than open it and prove what an idi0t you are.
By the way, it's 'Does Nadal 'pay' you, not 'pays' you. You need to get a clue, and a life.

Great final
by Michael on Jul 07, 2014 08:54 AM  | Hide replies

The match got have gone either way. Federer saved two set points in the 1st set and match point in the 4th set. He fought brilliantly. Alas there could be only one winner.

Congrats to Djokovic to getting back to the # 1 ranking again.
