RIP Tennis boards

I will probably get a lot of flak for this. But here goes.I'm an old timer here and blog very rarely, but I have been following the tennis boards keenly since many years. Sad to say that the boards as we know them have been wrecked by silly fighting between a group of so called fans. The tennis boards are a pitiable sight now.
This is mainly due to a fight between a group of Federer fans vs a group of Nadal fans. And it has finished off the boards forever.
I am a tennis fan and I enjoy the grace and finesse of Federer as much as the aggro and competitiveness of Nadal. There used to be very knowledgeable tennis fans here and the discussions were mostly positive.
To the Federer fans, you probably are 60% responsible for this state. Abusive language, threats and other antics are unnecessary. While you are entitled to your opinion, please respect those of the others as well. Cant you debate on merits? Is it a crime to think Federer isn't the greatest ever? Is it befitting of Federer to degrade, insult and provoke Nadal fans?
To the Nadal fans.. cloning is a form of impersonation and is not funny. It violates a persons dignity. I think Nadal would be ashamed to have fans like you. Does it diminish Nadal's greatness if a group of poorly informed non experts abuse him or degrade him?
Look at the boards now its a collection of reported messages. A lot of knowledgeable fans have left and I don't think they will ever be back.
RIP tennis boards.

I understand your feelings. There is a lot of abuse going on here in these tennis boards. Its mainly between the fans of Nadal and Federer. I know the fights are for silly reasons and each group claim their idol as the greatest.
When the players themselves have so much mutual respect for each other, the fans should also follow the same.

Thank you for understanding. Also please be the change. I have seen you also indulging in the same kind of behavior.Maybe if a few of us act responsible the rest will follow suit.

You are right. I know there were lots of people visiting these boards earlier. Now it has reduced, mainly I feel its because of the abusive language being used here.
I don't blog here much, but I accept even I've been guilty of being abusive. But I have decided to change for once and for all. I like a saying, "Be the change you want to see in others".... which is what I'm going to follow.
I like the main atp website, where people are very courteous to each other and at the same time support there players in a decent manner. I blog there sometimes and find it more entertaining.

Federer with 17 GS titles and 302 weeks as the number 1 ranked player is sure the undisputed greatest of all-time in tennis.
