Well done Anand.Indian media will not high light your achievement since you belongs to South India & especially Tamil nadu which is even neglected by Judiciary.
rediff why you are writing sarcastically about a THREE TIME WORLD CHAMPION that he has to wait for other matches & it is his forst victory in this year.( since he is not a north indian)
Which north indian goes upto a world championship prelimineries ? can you say /
I am always following you that you are magnifying useless contribution from North Indians 1000 folds in any sport in the mean time belittling the enormous contribution/victory from a Tamilnadu sportsmen.
Atleast from now on wards be honest.

India's best sportsperson

Anand is undoubtedly india's best sportsperson. Having won 4 continuous world championships, he is in his own space.

Go on Anand..we're waiting for 2013 world championship Anand Vs Carlsen and waiting to see you crush the kid.

A sole world title in any genuine global arena is tough, and deserved a pat and accolades, but to do it 4 time is a rare feat. Yet this scam ridden dynastic house of horror has no time for likes of Anand. They rather elevate complete nobodies for purely electroral reasons.

I THINK , I CAN BEAT ANAND , HE IS PREDICTABLE PLAYER , I AM REALLY SURPRISED TO SEE HIS OPPONENT , NOT ABLE TO ANALYSE HIS GAMES EVEN AFTER 20 YEARS ! , HE IS OVER CONFIDENT , FAST PLAYER , HE CAN BE EASILY TRAPPED AND CRUSHED.

He is still the World Champion, and even Magnus will find it difficult to defeat him. He may not win as many matches as a Tal or Kasparov or Carlsen but his defence is the greatest since Karpov.

Truly Bharat Ratna
by Das on Feb 18, 2013 03:40 PM  | Hide replies

Regardless of what largely dull Indian politicians, Indian hierarchy and general public think, this man is battling and consistently winning this tough mind game played by almost all the nations. He is truly Bharat Ratan, whether this is recognised by the award or not, which he deserves more than any other living Indian. Great man.

Why don't you just say Anand deserves Bharat Ratna and stop at that? Why equate chess with cricket? It simply shows you are jealous

Giving Bharat Ratna to Anand after so long it will be an Insult to Anand.
Anand don't need this award as it is being awarded/given by tainted politicians, tom, tick & harry.

VISHWAJEET PATKI
The only non white man in otherwise....!
by VISHWAJEET PATKI on Feb 18, 2013 03:39 PM

This sport is completely dominated by whites and the citizens of the 'progressed world'. Anand is a shining sun despite of being the only non white amongst the top and that too for many years. It is said that this game originated in India, so he is truly giving us the joy and pride of this legacy. His modesty, calmness and composure are lessons to all other sportsmen, especially those who turn to the careers in modelling at the cost of declining their sporting abilities.
