Said by one of India's biggest bandits, Praful Patel!

And he is the president of the All India football federation !!

Meaning that matters here in India have always remained the same and will always remain the same, come whatever!

It is one of the thieves who has to 'bless' a sporting talent!

And it is this thief who has to announce to the people that a 'great talent' has been discovered!

And that thief is so confident of earning applause from the people and retaining his position to steal from all corners that he grins wide before the media and hogs even more limelight than the supposed 'sporting talent' does!

The more things appear to change, the more they remain very much the same!

Indian Football

To improve the Indian Football political persons should be thrown away from AIFF first. These persons only do regional politics within AIFF. They are not interested in game of football at all because they do not understand football. India had a good football past and good footballars. Late Shailen Manna was named one of the best football captains by FIFA in fiftees. Dirty politics ruined the beautiful game in India from seventees. But let us hopefull.

First of all..

Before indian football players to play futball, let them learn to run fast. without running 10mts continously our players are waste. Passing and long shots is next stage. We never completed first stage(running) itself.

Physically we are not as strong as the Europeans and we don't have the stamina to last for one and half to two hours. Therefore Cricket suits us more. Also Chess. We still have a long way to go before we can really play serious Football.

Brazilian look like Indian, short and similar body structure. They know which style suits them to dominate world football. If they can succeed in the most popular game, then why can't we...

Hii

U mean to say , That Hockey is not strenous and if we can be top team in hockey , what stops us in football , I feel with some structured and institutional effort we could improve Our ranking in football also. and we could do what any one in world can do.

what a Joke

He is just there to advertise for the club in India..will never play in the main team.. Chhetri is only good for scoring goals against Butan or Nepal.
Highest ranked Indian player in the recent past - Baichung Bhutia could only manage a place in the reserved team of a League 2 (and there are 3 more tiers above it ) side in EPL..

That shows what Chhetri and Indian football is.

Let us not make ourselves a joke by celebrating this as a success!!

Menon, right.. we should encourage other main stream sports but I am pointing this as we generally become very content with achieving something that is not even considered worth getting a mention in other countries.. More higher we aim.. we may have a fighting chance to reach there.

@ashish - correct! its another shirt selling venture. SCP is not as successful as benefica and porto and have not played in CL for 10 years. why not sell a few shirts in 1 billion india? what better way?
