For me, Borg was Greatest..
by Demons on Aug 16, 2012 01:51 PM  | Hide replies

Some people say, he did'nt play Aus Open,

bu that does' nt matter in effect, as it was "GRASS", till 88 &

he already held a Record on Grass Surface.

As of US Open,

He did WIN US PRO SLAM..

The only difference b/w Grand Slam & Pro Slam is the PRIZE MONEY

Format - Same

Bet of 5 Sets,

Played on All Surfaces..

He achieved that in 7 Years..

besides 2 Year end titles & Masters Cup..

I will always VOTE for BORG!

He played LEGENDS; Active GS HOLDERS with al least 30 Doubles titles

Stan Smith
Rod Laver
Arthur Ashe
Vitas Gerulatis
Manuel Orantes

John McEnroe
Jimmy Connors..

& the likes.

:-)

Nadal still recovering from the trauma
by Adaksh AA on Aug 16, 2012 01:11 PM

Nadal is yet to recover from the traumatic 2nd round oss through the hands of 102nd ranked player...

Good for him that he is out of US Open... he wud surely be beaten in the 1st or 2nd round had he decided to play....

Federer is the best and will be the entire year followed by the Djoker and Andy...

Adios Nadal..

Most of the interest in US -Open is gone .Add to the vows of Dish TV, you want this Rs40/ you want that Rs40 / at Rs 400/ you can not get all sports channel .They are fleeceing people . It has been a full circle time to switch back to cable from DTH .Our corporation can not do any jobs where they can satisfy mass customers

NADAL IS DONE
by HUSSAIN MITHANI on Aug 16, 2012 11:55 AM  | Hide replies

Nadal should only play red clay tournaments from now on. He becomes "SUPERFIT", as he claimed in one of his interviews before red clay season started this year. Nadal is done for the rest of 2012 which means he has yet to win a non-clay title since 2010 and his ranking will drop to no.4. I have never understood nadal injuries and never will. He must have a switch which he uses to turn his injuries off and on. He will come back next year and I have feeling he will try to create a tennis schedule so that he can keep winning at the french open but you can forget the other slams. His tennis career has been on the downslide since 2010. He peaked too early in his career and is now paying the price for it.

Mr. Hussain, I find a curious case of jealousy, which I presume for a guy who may be a big zero in life for another guy who defied all odds and won a lot, be it grass, clay or Hard.

What is it so much that even a serious Nadal injury is no respite for your lashing him???

You thought he was done in 2009, didn't you?
Remember the bang with which he came back in 2010 before you start predicting.
If Nadal were to retire prematurely duse to this injury, it will be a loss for Tennis, not just for Nadal fans.

No, I did not think he was done in 2009. how can you say that? and don't be such a hyporite. you predict all the time so why can't I? don't tell me you only have the right to predict. and if you expect nadal to play like federer till the age of 30 and beyond, then you don't know Nadal. Due to his style of play, its inevitable that he will quit tennis sooner than later. and yes Nadal not playing will be a loss to tennis but tennis will not end, it will move on. just like when federer retires, it will be the greatest loss in tennis history but tennis will move on.

I will miss Nadal...
by Anurag Rathore on Aug 16, 2012 11:51 AM

I am not a fan of Nadal but I will miss him in US Open. His game is injury prone and it was very predictable during his peak days (2008) but his fans were expecting that he will win everything. It's not easy to match Federer but Nadal will be called one of the greatest who was 2nd best during Federer era.

We are not "fans"..

We just appraise what's true..

In fact, Djokovic is "Greater", he ALWAYS faces both of them,

to get a title..

It's just a fair appraisal,

no animosity,
no hatred.

Its not the same without the nemesis. He does provide half the drama. Comeback Nadal. Compete again. Complete the rivalry again.
