no one knows cricket at world level
by desiiii on Aug 11, 2012 05:35 PM

Mr SHarma lots of nations try to make it to olympics and not all get the chance, these 12 teams were best in world and so got the chance, if cricket is concerned hardly any one plays that game in world and its primarly being played in subcontinet. cricket is least competitive in world and still india had never been the best unlike hockey

wot?? only 12 nations ???
by prakash sharma on Aug 11, 2012 05:29 PM  | Hide replies

This is no less pathetic than cricket then ... Competing only with 12 countries. now i understand the secret behind our 8 gold medals so far in hockey. now we have started coming at the bottom even among the 12 nations .

If you include the associate nations - there are plenty of cricket playing countries too.

u r saying just the opposite . a coach can transform a good player into a very good player with the right technique. that is why he is called a coach and like a train coach which just follows the engine i.e the players..!

give the best coach in the world to indian cricket team (who ever he may be)and ask the team to win a series in south africa or australia in an year or two years or three years. if you come out with any good result then I might change my perception

strong action

until they choose the talent from young age and look after them, give them security and all amenities, indian players will always lack fitness and have their tongues out like dogs after half time

about Indian Hockey captain's comments...
by syed khadri on Aug 11, 2012 05:26 PM  | Hide replies

Dear countrymen and sports lovers,

From all the happenings of "Indian Hockey Team" raring to go to Olympics, to the defeats, outburst from "the so-called-coach", and now........ the courageous and true account given by Indian Hockey Captain, Bharat Chhetri --- I can feel that "for sure, young Team India wanted to do great things, no doubt they all tried and have failed". SO WHAT........ COME ON, THIS IS SPORT -- THE GOOD TEAMS WON AND "the not-so-good-teams or not-so-prepared teams" lost it. So.......... what is the fuss all about????

From all this, I can feel that:
1. Team India should FIRST AND FOREMOST STOP APPOINTING "FOREIGN COACHES"...... WHO ARE JUST AFTER MONEY, FAME ETC...... AND NOTHING ELSE.
2. NO WONDER THAT, IF THE SAME TEAM HAD WON -- THE SAME ... COACH WOULD HAVE ENJOYED IT ALL AND PROBABLY IN THE FOREFRONT ON ALL PHOTOS.
3. ALL OF THESE BRITISH, AMERICANS AND ETC. ETC.. KNOW FOR SURE THAT "ANYBODY'S CHARACTER IS TESTED ONLY IN DIFFICULT TIMES...." So, where does this foreign coach fit into all this well-acknowledged and well-accepted schools of thought on such fine things of life as character, team work, trust, morale-boosting, team building, team commitment, etc.. The foreign coach has proven that is "not even fit to be given a zero-mark"-- he has failed miserably miserably in his duty by blaming the team, etc.. which is just childlish, foolish and in fact devilish.

So, Te

continuation of my above comment...

So, Team India and the brave Captain, Mr. Bharat Chhetri, please note WE (like me, the True Indians) have seen it all of whatever you and Hockey Team have gone through.

No problem, relax and leave these bad results away from your mind. Instead take the positives out of Olympics and try to mobilize your Young Team firstly, to come out of this rut and next to concentrate for upcoming tournaments or international events. I STRONGLY BELIEVE, THAT IF ANYBODY TRIES WITH ALL HIS HEART, MIND, PLANNING AND PUTS HIS EVEN HIS BEST EFFORT..... FOR SURE, HE WILL ACHIEVE GREAT RESULTS. YES!!! I am only 39 years and have achieved great great results with sincerity, hard work and proper application of mind. As simple as that.

Stop not and instead plan to zoom ahead in life. Bravo!!! And, foreign coaches........ oooooph, they are stinking...... leave them aside........

play who deserve
by desiiii on Aug 11, 2012 05:23 PM

select the players who deserve to play not like sandeep singh who were a liability, players like shivender uthappa and sv sunil had no skills to penetrate in opponents D and only thing they were doing was flashing hard. defence was always lousy and caught napping dont know whom to mark what to do. The only plus point was midfield which played well

Hockey Team performance
by Sowri Rajan on Aug 11, 2012 05:16 PM  | Hide replies

Khel Ratna should be awarded to the entire team including the Coach for bringing out the best in all matches including the last one. We proud it to the world that hockey was our national game.
