no. more indian athletes have made it to the finals or last 8 stage this year than in 2008. India narrowly missed one bronze today just by 1 point. So level of performance has improved.
In the INDIAN army we are trained to do or die for INDIA. We think about India 24x7.
Glory for INDIA is our highest ideal.
Eine Gold, Eine Silber und Eine Bronze Medaille
That is what we are aiming for this Olympics at a minimum.
I want to start a movement which will bring Olympic awareness to millions of Indians.
We need to form a team of Selectors, Coaches and officials who supervise the selection and training of the best blood in our nation.
We need to setup Olympic training centers all across INDIA: Elite schools which select the best, hone them and make winners.
We need to make sure that athletes marry athletes in the future so as to pass on the best genes to the future generation.
An Olympic medal should be a passport to a life of comfort and privilege in India: An athlete who gets this for his country should now be considered an honored citizen of our nation. He should avail of Free train travel, Air-travel, housing, a hefty pension and a job.
We should make a documentary on the Olympics which lasts an hour. It should show the various sporting nations and highlights of various Olympics and also highlight India's sorry state of affairs.
Increasing the number of medals we get at the Olympics should now be a matter of National Priority.
Let various agencies get together to chart out a path for achieving this.
