Lee-Hesh had a far better chance

The way this pair fought, it is clear that Paes-Bhupathi together would have put up a much better show and probably won this game!

Why so much noise

The best medal prospect for us would have been Paes-Bopanna. But even then, most likely we would have lost. Because top singles players also play doubles at olympics. Like Tsonga, Gasquet, Federer, Djokovic etc. Then there are top doubles like Bryans etc.
Once the pairing was Paes-Vardhan and Bupathi-Bopanna we had no chance of medal.

Then why the fuss now????????

You won't live long there. They'll keep you under house arrest and eventually hang you! Better stay is a sports-poor, free India than die a slow death in a Communist land.

when u dun give a chance to deserving spotspersons...
by prakash sharma on Aug 02, 2012 10:06 AM

this is what happens.. ! In India , at every stage u have to bribe the officials to get an entry to anything. whether its business or a sport . what happens is , deserving but poor candidates r left out and the ppl with more contacts and some money to bribe get promoted to higher level. and what happens next is for everybody to see. An Olympic Disaster.

The useless Paes is finally served his just desseerts he put his foot in his mouth earlier and I suppose now he will say that they lost because his partner had no "SHOES TO WEAR",dont worry there will be plenty more shoes awaiting him in India...

Olympics saga
by abc_xyz abc_xyz on Aug 02, 2012 09:42 AM

While I appreciate people like Om SHanthi for their enthusiasm and support to the Indian contingent, I hope, they are slowly getting a reality check, 5 days into the games. India@Olympics has always been this way, with too much predictions and then disappointments. This is how it goes:

2 months before the games: Govt says, they have hired foreign coaches, sent players abroad for training, provided with world class facilities ..blah blah blah

1 month before olympics: every tom, dick and harry that goes to olympics says, we are ready for the games, we will get back with GOLD, jai ho ...blah blah blah

Just before the games start: Indian public is made to believe they have the best chances of winning medals this time.

During the games: Due to bad luck, inclement weather, we coudn't finish at the podium...we will try next time.

Right after the games: All the leading newspapers carry articles ' Why India fails at Olympics' , 'Corruption at the root level', ' Indians dont carry the temperament to suceed', ' Facilities not that good' etc etc and critizice the govt.

Enough !!!!!! for god damn sake, let the performance do the talking ...otherwise to all the players, coaches, govt staff - KINDLY SHUT UP. We dont want any excuses.

The only positives we can take from this games is that our Boxing/wrestling contingent has improved by leaps and bounds, Our shooters have been getting us at least 1 medal in the last three editions, Thanks to Gopi, our shuttlers have put up a good show.
