Federer can win.
by A Singh on Jun 04, 2011 10:21 AM

Federer can win if he is able to approach the final with a clear head.
There can hardly be any doubt about Federer's technical superiority, but Nadal is mentally tougher, and is tactically superior. Players often make the mistake of engaging Nadal in long rallies, and not just losing important points, but also losing their energy reserves, which Nadal has in inexhaustible quantity. Federer should not make this mistake. That, and his Service, could take him through.

If Federer Wins !!
by nt g on Jun 04, 2011 09:44 AM  | Hide replies

If Federer Wins ,then He will be Second person in Open Era to Win Every GrandSlam Twice. Only Rod Laver has done it.
If Nadal wins he will equal Borg with 6 French Open Titles.
Borg has 6/8 ration at French open
Nadal will have 6/7 ,
Nadal will be ahead.

While watching fedex in full blossom, tennis looks like an easy game to play....whenever I sit to watch a game played by fedex, it really is a joy to watch....Rafa is a great player and he has proven it by the career slam....no offense to anyone.....but given an option, i would prefer to watch fedex in action.....

Federer WAS Best to Watch.
But his game NOW appears to be average.
Federer of 2005-2007 has gone, Nadal has better chances of winning.
Federer Was among Best three to watch in 2007, Those three were -Sachin, Ronaldo and Federer,
Sachin at 38 is still great to watch , Federer may not play till age 38 !!!

Federer's chances
by aishwarya patil on Jun 04, 2011 06:21 AM  | Hide replies

Federer's chances against Nadal depend solely on his Service. Even against Djokovic, the greatest difference was his Service: He was able to come up with a big one, when in distress; he even won the match point with an ace.
If Federer is able to serve at least as well as he did against Djokovic, he has a 50% chance of toppling Nadal.
And by the way, if Federer wins, Djokovic takes over as no. 1.

Djoker lost a semi final last year so he defended his points this time round. The winner gets 2000 while the finalist gets 1400. This is assuming that both players did not win a match last year. if Nadal wins this time, he would have defended what he achieved last year, so he will not get additional points. However, if he loses, he will lose 600 points leaving him with 11670 which is just 5 points ahead of Djoker. And therefore, even if Roger wins over Nadal, Nadal will still remain No.1

I will rather go for Rafa's 10th Grand slam title.. and equal to legend Bjorn Borg's record 6th French open title.. But history can be made on Sunday, if Fedex stop this.. and Rafa's 2nd loss only at Roland garos arena.. wait and watch

Its not only his serve my dear, one of huge difference in last game was his back hand rallies, i think that make huge difference as well.
Against Nadal, only good serve wont work, he will have to get his rallies right as well as Nadal will break u doesnt matter how well u serve.
And, against Nova all the pressure was on him to be number-1, 42 winning streak, First RG final, and he started favrt, here, even though Nadal will start favrt, Roger wil be under pressure as well to win GS once again after huge gap, 4 grand slam gap (First time in his career).

The legend Federer does it again.
by HUSSAIN MITHANI on Jun 04, 2011 03:29 AM  | Hide replies

This is what legends are made of. Before Novak streak started, Federer was the one who beat him last year at World Tour Finals and Federer is the one who ends Novak's streak. and the tennis world will remember this from years to come. Not only does Federer stops Novak from becoming No.1 (Nadal should thank federer) but he stops him from beating McEnroe's record. This is the match of the year. What an exciting semifinal. Even after being past his prime and 30 yrs of age, Federer managed to beat Novak. Man! you are the greatest tennis player ever and I am very proud to be your fan and proud to witness your greatness. No tennis player can play this well at the age of 30. You played the match of your life. This is Federer's fifth french open final. Federer is a rare tennis player who has been successful on every surface and has great record on every surface. If Federer can beat the undefeated Novak, you can easily top Nadal. Best of luck in the final.

Federer gave Rafa the best give on his 25th birth day.
by Another Critic on Jun 04, 2011 03:25 AM  | Hide replies

(1) An extension to his World No.1 Ranking
(2) An end to Djokovic's 41 consecutive matches winning run
(3) An very huge opening for Rafa to win his 10th Grand Slam.

Overall, a great match.
