Idiot both the game have equal prospects in India as both are struggling to find a good future prospect like Cricket he he he ehe ehehehehehehhh
The success in any sport is to catch em young. All the top countries have organized soccer starting for 6 year old kids. Kids of this age play in various leagues, practise under a volunteer coach and play tournaments. Kids who are skilled then join travel leagues by the time they are 9 or 10 year olds and get professional coaching. Naturally, you will find some of them growing up to be international stars. There is no grass root level organized soccer in India. By the time they are identified to represent club, state of the country it is too late to start teaching new tricks to old dogs.
USA Has won 300 gold medals at olympics in field of athletics , so why are they still a weak side at football? Brazil has just on4 gold medals at athletics , so by this logic if football is all about atheliticsm , then USA would be champion of fifa world cup every 4 years but in reality they are just minnows and dont even give serious attention to football

We can see parallels between India & USA. Both dont have much passion about football.
Its all about the interest the game generates in a country, which in turn translates into talent pool. When more people take to the game quality players will emerge out of that. Thats what happens to Brazil in football and India in cricket.

Defence is sooo good, feels like a packed fielding side in a square with a BIG cricket ball, only instead of 'catch-it', it is 'kick-it' :D

They are "relatively" weak side because the best athletes play American football or ice hockey or track.
India does not have any athletes who are world class. Period.
You cannot teach that - no matter who is the coach.
Very few pure world class athletes in India. One reason we do well in cricket it that it does not require athleticism. Sachin, Dravid, Sehwag, Ganguly and Laxman who are the pillars of batting are hardly world class athletes.

Just for reference remember the running of Claudio Cannigia of Argentina - he was no Maradona(no one is) but he had the ability to run past the defenders.

The 4X100 relay silver at Sydney was won by Brazil. You think Indians are going to make the final in that event?
Would you deny those 4 are World Class? Not Usain Bolts but very good.

pathetic display of indian soccer. This Indian team seems to be delighted by loosing 4 to nil!!!!!! after spending a year in sofisticated camps of portugal, spain etc... with 20 crorers of money. Still this stupid indian coach cries for infrastructure, whats he is trying to hide? When they will grow up?????? Can anyone tell me. I had seen the match India never threaten them while attacking then whats the use of keeping boby houghton and spend some 20 crores, indian player hardly keep the ball on the ground, alas this stupid coach wants english football style in india i.e. direct fotball, this stupid englishman has got each and every facility he needed for the preparations of asia cup. Now still after his post match interview he hide his fault and the teams by the name of "lack of propor infrastructure". Mr.Hougton still what exactly you need now? Guys myself being from bengal I know this Indian soccer team is a 3rd grade one. Nonoff these players r able to hold the ball with propor soccer skills, except Rahim Nabi. Climax lawrence, pradip, steven dias, sunilchetri, abhishek yadav, renedy singh lacks those abilitites, these players are thrown out from superior clubs like eastbengal and mohunbagan but they r making it easy in the national team. I guarantee that if players like robin singh, sanju pradahn, snehashis chakraborty, lal kamal bhowmick, subhash singh, gouranga dutta, gurwinder singh, soumik dey being picked in the side then aussies could have the real t

Hello smart guy, Germany defeated Australia 4-0 in the world cup in SA , does that make Australia lousy? No. India's 4-0 result is crediatable considering India;s FIFA ranking!!
After going 3-0 up, they just played on to themselves. India just didnot have the speed, strength and skill to match them. With age catching up with Surkumar, Deepak Mondal, the speed of the team took a toll and that is evident with the response of Aussies. Sunil, with his small stride was like a liliput and the long ball tactics was total waste. Climax and Stephen Dias played as if they are learning the basics of football. The two shots they took at the Aussies goal were just shameful. There was no positive apart from Subrata Paul who made a valient effort as expected.
