Indian Football
by james ap on Apr 25, 2011 04:58 PM

It is for sure that there were not much players from Bengal, a team from different parts of the contry and Houghton never allowed calcutta Loby to dominate. I don't think that he should watch local derbies to spot talents. It is the Job of District associations and State association. Really speaking, without getting support of Mass, football can not improve in our nation. for that, club football will not at all. Santosh Trophy Matches should not be played in one State, where all the matches except host states mateches will be played in empty stadioum. It should be played like I-leage, Revive local Tournaments, Make team like, south, North, East etct and play each other. Make Team like India sr., India in colours, India NRIs and I leage Overseas Teams and play between

Indian football and hockey is spoiled by association and politicians

Now the greedy and corrupt politicians have eyed cricket. Look at Sharat Pawar and co..

It is really the best move as of now...Everybody is saying India has advanced under Bob, is it really so? In the last 5 years not a single new face is there in the Indian team...Bob has not willed to see any I league or local league matches to spot talent...same set of players have been used again and again whose form have dipped during the passing years...Bhaichung Bhutia was the state guest for the last 3 months during Asia cupo without even playing a single match...Mehrajudding Wadoo a prominent member of the India team, never gets a match for his club since his performance is so pathetic...incidentally Mehraj is the only guy in Indian football who was shown a Yellow card when he fouled his own team mate...Sushil Singh, the Indian striker scored at the club level 2 years back...Manju, Deepak Mandal do not get games for their clubs...barring Subrata Pal, Sunil Chettri and Baljit Singh, not a single player in the current Indian team get matches for their respective clubs coz of their below perfromances...Indian team has played matches only with teams ranked below so that Bob can boast of good results...they had literally refused to play with better teams in fear that they would be thrashed like they were thrashed 9-0 against UAE... The move out of BOB is really a good step and I hope AIFF brings in a better coach who would search for new face and talents and not linger with players who are there just coz they have a symbiotic relation with the coach...

Indian Football Coach resigns..
by PRASANNA VEERARAGHAVAN on Apr 24, 2011 08:26 AM

That is really a sad news for the Indian football and worser is the administration had taken its toll on someone who really works for the development of a sport once again.

Most probably Houghton is taken off for his hitting out on the silly sick admin that is ruining the sport in the country.

all the bosses in India need butt lickers behind them ,and there are people willing to do that also without any respect for themselves,no wonder Britain ruled over us like slaves because we agreed to be so .be it in schools ,colleges or work we have this category of stinking hyenas following the hardly working so called lions

Re: Golden Rule for expats working in India
by Razor on Apr 24, 2011 01:58 AM

The golden rule for any foreign expat working in India is, never criticize the system no matter how stinking it might be. The Indian bosses love feedbacks only if they are positive ! And teh AIFF should understand that any foreign coach is bound to get annoyed with the infrastructure and the system with any sport other than cricket in India because to put it in most mild words, our system sucks. They did it to hockey, they did it to football and other sports.

Indians themselves use racial abuses at each other all the time...terms like Bongs, Bhaiyas, Paiyas, sardarji jokes etc are standard fare of Indian life..Indians are very insensitive in the way they talk about fellow Indians..esp the westernized English speaking ones..Indian football suck..get it revamped and win the World Cup like cricket.
