Indians themselves use racial abuses at each other all the time...terms like Bongs, Bhaiyas, Paiyas, sardarji jokes etc are standard fare of Indian life..Indians are very insensitive in the way they talk about fellow Indians..esp the westernized English speaking ones..Indian football suck..get it revamped and win the World Cup like cricket.
Even if houghton has said that, it's a very weak case to charge him with racism. In all likelihood it might have been done on the heat of the moment. And there are numerous occassions when we throw similar remarks against the westerners, be it the communusts, in movies, in debates and discussions, leave apart the common people.
In the end houghton tried to organize a few things in indian football. The result is not visible yet, hopefully next batch of footballers would bring some glory for the nation

agree to that.. many a times we need a bit of councelling against hpocracy...its true that Houghten was instrumental in beinging up the ranking..

ashamed to hear this.. pls understand that cricket is not a world sport..
If the Indian Government is really interested to put India on the global map in Football and revive our National game Hockey then they must hire expert coaches.. May be they can sign people like Maradona..
