Organising a big sporting event is not an easy task; I commend the Indian government and its citizen for organising the event,We should be proud of it. I am proud of being an Indian, always.

Not all sporting events had been easy, few snippets below

1972 – Munich Olympics
The 1972 Games were largely overshadowed by what has come to be known as the Munich massacre. A group of Palestinian terrorists broke into the Olympic Village and took eleven Israeli athletes, coaches and officials hostage. Two of the hostages who resisted were killed and the subsequent standoff lasted 18 hours.

1976 – Montreal Olympics
The Games were a financial disaster, as the city faced debts for thirty years thereafter. The Quebec provincial government took over construction when it became evident in 1975 that work had fallen behind. Weeks before the opening date, and the main tower was not built.

1986 – Edinburgh CWG
The Games are remembered due to a large political boycott and financial mismanagement. It boycotted by a large number of African, Asian and Caribbean countries, including India reducing them to an almost whites-only affair. 32 of the 59 nations due to take part boycotted.

2004 – Athens Olympics
The Games had to face huge problems in the run up as almost no major venue and infrastructure project was in place. The IOC was forced to reconstitute the organising committee. The haste in which the infrastructure w

Are u agent of congress.
Don;t justify wrong doing of govt,CWG comitte which destroyed country image by those incidences.
No sport event has drawn as much controversy as CWG before start of the tournamnet in entire history.
Incability, corruption, inefficiency, lack of co-rdination-planning to host a sports events is very visible.
Mind u CWG is not a big sporting event like olympics, Wcup etc - still we couldn't manage it effectively.
See last olympic at china & worldcup football at SA- how well managed.

Ashish, i stay in South Africa, it was not an easy task to organise such a big event. There were huge problems here aswell, but the citizens of this country took it as national pride, volunteered to make it better. i am not an congressman or a bjp man. i am just an aam admi, who says yes be critical but put ur effort first then criticise. If i may ask what did u contribute towards CWG?

shahzeb,
Any muslim who takes lives of another human being is not considered a muslim.Be it Palestinians, kashmiris , indians , pakistanis afghanis, etc.
Freedon fighters for palestine..have you ever been to palestine? why do u guys like supporting other countries and their involvement. Try to better your own village, city , town and country. Make India proud.
Mr.Siddiqui, what have you achieved that you can say you are a proud Indian. first clean your doorstep, then stand up for the cause of Palestinians. How many orphanages have you supported and fought for in ur home town.
Plz dont speak of freedom fighters. you dont appreciate what you have in India? Look at the people in ur west and east, go live their lives then you will say yes India is beautiful, and I AM PROUD OF IT
