CWG AFTERMATH
by Anand Vajapeyam on Sep 23, 2010 08:04 AM  | Hide replies

What do you expect from a party headed by a person who is not an Indian? UPA has no national pride. We must seriously think in terms of sending this Under Performing Agency to dust bin once for all.

Cricket world cup is ahead.. Fartystan left venues so india gonna deliver too many cricketing events.. and at that time we indian also forgot this CWG Mess..

The Other side of the Coin
by sudarshan nanda on Sep 23, 2010 08:04 AM

If Bhopal Gas Tragedy was one side of the coin then this is another tragedy in the making. These people (Ministers) should be dealth with in a similar manner for taking the faith, trust and belief of the entire nation on a joy ride.
This is the moment when corruption should be publicly hanged by neck. A National shame is no less than a tragedy equivalent to the Bhopal Case.

Highlights of the Commonwealth Games 2010
by Real Indian on Sep 23, 2010 06:23 AM

Dear readers, the CWG 2010 might not have kicked up yet; but have a look at the latest news related to these Games:

1) Phillips Idowu (England, triple jumper)- The European champion is skipping the Games due to safety concerns.
2) Craig Hunter, the chef de mission of the England team, is on a shopping expedition in Delhi for 560 pairs of trousers and long-sleeved tops to protect his athletes and officials from mosquito-borne Dengue fever.
3) Scotland athletes have delayed their departure to Delhi and Wales has set a deadline of Wednesday evening for the organisers to certify all venues and Games Village are safe.
4) Discus World Champion Dani Samuels was the first from the Australian team to pull out of the Games this week, admitting that her health and safety were not worth a gold medal.

It will be really good seeing all the athletes pulling out of the Games, and Shiels DeepShit playing with Kalmadi and the PWD in the stadium.

Great National shame. Its more shame on we Indians if we let the UPA govt. remain in power to deplete the country of the tax-payer's hard earned moey. Jai Hind!!

Re: everyone is responsible for current state of india
by Real Indian on Sep 23, 2010 06:38 AM
How can you hold the honest citizens of our country responsible for the CWG debacle? The main responsibility lies on the head of the UPA govt., the PWD, contractors, engineers and the unskilled labour engaged in the work.

The official total budget estimated for hosting the Games was US $2.5 billion or 11,494 crores. And what has been spent: Rs 28054 crores (as on Aug 10' 10); as stated by Jaipal Reddy.

And what quality has been provided, the whole world knows it now. We have stadiums leaking, footbridge and fall ceiling collapse at Jawaharlal Nehru stadium, malba scattered and roads dug up all across the city (do the citizens have any role in all this debacle).

And our honourable govt. and guys involved in preparation of the Games are just blaming the unusual September rains for these debacles. The city should have been well decorated by the month of June.

You just go thru any foreign website or newspaper, and they are already making mockery of the preparations India has made for the Games.

Great national shame. Jai Hind!!

Whose baby is this ?
Everyboey wants to stand for nation, but you cant ride and make us pride.Resposible are only those who had mens-rea to pick and choose darling contractors with no international reputaions,Big Indian coys were negated the contracts on shouded paraphernalis,whims,fancies,back-door entriesand with ulterior-motives of heightest order.Game was not their game and their game was some other game.Only the can be held resposible whose signatures matter, can't blame all.

Real facts and figures related to the Commonwealth Games.
by Real Indian on Sep 23, 2010 06:01 AM  | Hide replies

Dear readers, please allow me to share certain actual facts and figures related to te CWG 2010.

1) Bidding: The two principal bids for the 2010 Commonwealth Games were from Delhi, India and Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. A ballot of members was held in November 2003 at the Commonwealth Games Federation General Assembly in Montego Bay, Jamaica.

Delhi bid won by a margin of 46 votes to 22, confirming India's first successful bid for the Games. The bid was Canada's attempt to hold the games for the fifth time.

India shifted the balance in its favour in the second round of voting with a promise that it would provide US $100,000 to each participating country, along with air tickets, boarding, lodging and transport.

I totally fail to understand why on earth would a country which is till date; unable to eradicate poverty, illitracy, unemployment and inflation in its country step in to bid for such an extravagant affair at the cost of its taxpayer's hard-earned money.

2) The official total budget estimated for hosting the Games was US $2.5 billion or 11,494 crores. And what has been spent: Rs 28054 crores (as on Aug 10' 10); as stated by Jaipal Reddy.

And what quality has been provided, the whole world knows it now. The slogan for the Games was decided as "Come out and play". Now, when the stadiums do collapse, the athletes will have no option left but to come out on the streets to play. Great national shame!!
