I think absolute power corrupts absolutely. The problem was that in the early years after independence, there was no credible opposition resulting in 30 years of continuous rule. Any politician who knows for sure that he can get back to his seat without doing development work or public good will have no incentive to work. Politicians find it easy to win votes by dividing people on religion and caste - who is responsible for this -- our own disunity. Before British used to do divide and rule and now our politicians do. That is why we should defeat these politicians next time or our misery will continue

Gopi, That Asiad was a success only after the Army was called and asked to clean up the mess in the last 5 months. Not many now recall the chaos that Asiad was all set to be, till the Army saved the day working day and night.
Kalmadi tried to pull the same trick by asking the Army to work for free, but AK Anthony put his foot down as he knew that Kalmadi the crook had eaten so much that even after the Army cleans up the mess, buildings and flyovers will still fall!
At least AK Anthony had the good sense to save Army the embarassment, as this CWG is destined to doom, but if the Army had been called in the media and Kalmadi would have shifted the entire blame to 'inneficient and corrupt' Army.
LOL, maybe Kalmadi should ask IAS and IPS officers to work for free to clean up the CWG infrastructure. Since IAS and IPS people are such great patriots I am sure they will work for free.
Certainly, the "excrement" in the dwellings of the foreign delegates in the Conwealth Games is the one in face of the National Leadership,if there is one, that is...
These developments have certainly put India to a position comparable to an urban "youth who out of vanity sports a borrowed full suit, but wears tattered and smelly innerware.
Time there is a public interest litigation against the Topmost authorities for hurting the nations pride.

Who would preside over the case...recent affidavite by an ex minister claims that 50% judges of supreme court are corrupt... forget about high court and the lower judiciary..
India is divided into to two class of people...(1) One class which has the oppourtunity to loot public money, (politicians, bureucrats, etc) (2) Those people who are not in position to loot the exchequer but if had an opportunity would loot the money themselves. Lets agree that all Indians are corrupt, some are lucky while others cry foul and term the grapes as our.
