I thought she won the doubles title. I am confused as there is no mention of Ashwini Ponappa when it comes to "attributing" her success to support from others! There is too much "I" in Jwala. "I" worked hard, "I" deserve it!!! The only mention of her partner is when she talks of sponsorships!

She has too much of I...and reality see her playing...Ashwini does all the hard work in the court and same is the case with Diju...I don't why the people have made so much of hype...Her real test will be in Asiad...And she is talking of gold in CWG...Any major event...NO..look at Saina...won so many majors and still quiet...that's the champion...

Not necessrily. She is just talking about her overcoming certain negatives that were thrown at her on personal front. Having said that I do admit that she should have made a mention of Ashwini's immense contribution in making a success a reality for her. At the end of the day, her sucsess was in a team event and not individual. He should have shown more modesty.

This is what I call, selective picking. she was linked, talked about still she got the gold. So take it easy,,,,she is not saying that Ashwini didnt play or she wont it single handedly,,,,she is just trying to say to her detractors that dont mess with her now,,,
I consider Abhinav Bindra as the real star. Kapil said Bindra's gold medal is bigger than his cricket world cup victory. So that's the best compliments. Sachin anyway has never made India win a world cup. Till now his achievements are nothing compared to Bindra

It is the first "individual" gold medal for India in the olympics. It means a great great deal. All previous gold medals were by in a team event viz. hockey. Winning individual golds, even silvers and bronzes in the olympics speaks a lot of how much confidence Indian sportsmen and Indians as a whole are showing. Trust and pray that this confidence only grows and spreads to the common man as well.

yes..indeed gold medal in olympics is like a everest climbing in difficult scenario.but don't criticize sachin here..he has given fabulous performance in many WC.remeber cricket is a team game.not sachin's game...if that would have been the case, then viv richards would had won single handedly agnst india in 1983 WC final.
Dear Jwala - a small advice !! your performance in CWG was exceptional !! Thats good keep it up ! But pls put a stop to that BIG mouth of yours !! Learn from the much younger Saina Newal. A sportsperson always lets their performance do the talking !! If anything see the Indian Icon Sachin Tendulkar- captains have come & went-but he is standing rock solid with his bat doing all the talkings !!

I Agree. The biggest problem with our sportsmen(women included) is their attitude and big mouth once they experience their first sucsess. Modesty is never demonstrated by these youngsters and Arrogance and Lethargy sets in. Even John McEnroe used to get angry but his anger always reflected positively in his game. So what Jwala needs is maturity when it comes to handling administrators and media and consistent and uncompromised focus on her game. When you grow above a particular level of achievement, good things will automatically follow. She needs to be more patient and remain focussed. Else, she will vanish in thin air like so many talented in the past.
