"There was a layer of bureaucracy imposed over everything. That made it difficult to produce things and a lot of time was taken up waiting for decisions.
It was impossible to do some things that were proposed, simply because we ran out of time!
The Chinese, on the other hand, understand the need to take decisions quickly and stick to them"

At the end it all boils down to money that is what matters matters to officials who control budget. when a decision is made money is spent, and the official don't like that. since less money goes int their coffers. They like to hold on to budget for as long as they can which in turn cost time and shoddy workmanship.

China would be an incorrect idol for India. We are culturally and politically absolutely different. What India can do, China cannot and vice versa.
There are 100 other countries to emulate - look at Greece that hosted a successful 2004 olympics inspite of not being among the richest countries or Chile that wonderfully saved its citizens through a technological and human miracle of sorts. These countries share our values much more than China and it is important to imbibe their virtues and learn from them.
By comparing ourselves with China or Israel, we would be only becoming a more confused state.

He is a Chinese, so he feels happy about that comment on China by Fisher.
I thought it was purely a local idea...I mean our own...as we usually see baloons at every birthday or any other function, and it definitely would have been some politician's idea...nope..I turned out to be wrong...it was a great success...good that no kid said...mummy....I want that baloooon...:)
As shown in the press, a part of the rupee in every corruption reaches upto the high command in the ruling party as well as the opposition party in India. From CWG, it is quite clear that no action will be taken against the OC since money made out of corruption has reached upto the top. This is the state of affair in India. Non-corrupt and sincere persons like APJ Abdul Kalam cannot stay for long in any posts in India.

by S.Viswanathan Yes, yes, we should not allow him to take that away from new delhi. It should remain in India. Otherwise Kalmadi and company should be held responsible for the huge expenditure on this baloon
