All those who scored Gold in CWG are real Heros !!!!!
by S Narain on Oct 13, 2010 12:12 AM

This is best performance by India in CWG games

where there strong team from Ausralia,UK,Canada

SothAfrica,Jamiaca,Kenya...competetion is tough

I forsee that Indian sports would now emerge in

world sport arena of Olympic games and only few

leisure minded would follow cricket....

These games which have little suport from Govt.

for sportsperson would ignite passion for the

world sports and not only make us healthy but

also strong in character also....

I am sick of seeing stupid and dirty serials on

TV/ too much of hype for criket...I am happy

India is waking up finally to the real things

Congratulation to all real heros of CWG..

Go India Go

women's relay
by opinion counts on Oct 13, 2010 12:01 AM

someone posted the relay race in youtube. I have to tell you.. i was almost on tears during the final 400..You go girls..50 years ago these girls would have been told to stay at home..Amazing where we have come..
You can say we had homefield advantage and other nonsense..everyone has some advantage at some point. With all the training facilities here in the west (and Australia), these Indian girls didnt have any distinct advantage and it was a classy comeback.. Great story like that movie on hockey..Couldnt have scripted any better.

Melbourne performace more credible
by Saurav Basu on Oct 12, 2010 11:30 PM  | Hide replies

Considering the field was much tougher and event was held in Australia unlike favourable home conditions

We will finish with 35/35 gold medals at home. Beyond the hype, our performance has definitely improved only in wrestling, shooting, hockey and badminton. In rest of the events we have actually declined

To add to your list:
Lawn Bowls - First time participation for India
Netball - First time participation for India
Rugby 7s - Same as before
Atheletics - Way better than before
Tennis - 3 medals, better than before
Table Tennis - Better than before

What else?? Also, the number of athelets is more than Melbourne 2006. Please clear your facts/knowledge before commenting anything negative.

Saurav,
Get your lazy bottom out of the chair and do something before you are critical of winners.
India is losing on lot of avenues due to people like you.

What about performance in Atheletics with 2Gold almost 10-12 silver & Bronze...it is great improvement in Atheletics.
Good opening in Gymnastics ,Archery .This time around there would be 25 more medals than the best of performance in manchester 2002 CWG

U are right, Buddy. India is destined to become a great world power that will one day lord over the earth as it used to in the past.

It has been prophesied and it is destined to come true, all signs of things that lead to it are coming out in open. However we need to curb our unbridled population growth and chuck out our corrupt politicians and bureaucrats. It may not happen in our lifetimes but is surely to happen in our grand childcare's lifetimes.

Jimmy Carter, Bill Gates and George Bush previously came to India. So what has changed?
