Mittal Champions Trust supports Indian athletes with world-beating potential. It is funded by Lakshmi Mittal and was initiated by his son-in-law Amit Bhatia. It was founded on 9 November 2005 by Mahesh Bhupathi. The first beneficiary was Joshna Chinappa, India's best squash player. The trust was formed due to Mittal being disappointed by the dismal performance by Indians, who won just one bronze medal in the 1996 Summer Olympics, another bronze in the 2000 Summer Olympics and a silver medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics. The initial funding is $9 million. The trust aims at developing Indian athletes for the 2012 Olympics in London.
The sports in focus are Squash, Badminton, Archery, Boxing, Shooting sports, Swimming and Heptathlon. The foundation has said that they won't be supporting cricket.. Mittal Champions Trust has 40 athletes as of now. They had supported Abhinav Bindra when he had problem in importing ammunition. The trust supported Abhinav with 50 lacs.MCT also plans to develop training facilities in the country.

Only the Athletes in CWG. Like when India toured NZ there is a book issued to Indians it's true
these CWG games are low profile games...cricket is the most popular game in Inida....there are more spectators in the recent IND-AUS series than in the CWG games....all the stadiums are empty.....many are not interested in these low profile games

I don't think stadiums are empty. Perhaps most people like cricket but they like other sports as well like us here.

It is because all schools and colleges are closed as well as all offices under the delhi govt.Hence most of the people have taken off on vacation. You can see the effects on the roads, there are hardly any traffic jams now inspite of the CWG lanes being separated.

yes, definitely this time..we have emerged as a strong force in the world of shooting, boxing, wrestling, archery, badminton and team tennis thanks to sponspors like Mittal Foundation which wants India to be a force to reckon in London Olympics, unfortunately our own corporate houses are concentrating only on cricket...

Yes, you are right. May be this more wins might change the attention towards other games as well. The biggest problem is Cricket is played through out the year while like this events happening may be 4 or 5 only per year and hardly 50 days in a year. That's change the attention.

Well,Mittal does not have any manufacturing unit in India although his Arcelor Mittal group is the largest steel maker in the world..
Earlier the most filthy village, has now been certified by Michael Fennel as the best CWG village that has ever been made. Finally congratulations to the OC

The very fact that IOC president Jacques Rogge was present during the opening ceremony speaks volumes about what the international community thinks about the facility and infrastructure and India's capacity to host major international sporting events.Inspite of the negative publicity that our media drummed about the games and the foreign press then clamouring about the facilities etc. everyone knows in their heart of hearts that India has set a new benchmark as far as CWG are concerned and others countries would find it difficult to meet the high standards set here.

And,we need to promote olympic sports in a big way to alleviate people from the cricket stricken lethargy so that we can complete our projects on time..

Senthil,Pranab, ranjan, sarmath,I am very sorry to say that your answers are wrong so I am unable to give you the Kalmadi autographed ticket.
The right answer is option D.None of the above... The Commonwealth of Nations, normally referred to as the Commonwealth and previously known as the British Commonwealth, is an intergovernmental organisation of fifty-four independent member states. All but two of these countries were formerly part of the British Empire...some of the participants in Delhi CWG are only territories of some of the nations...
