everything is ok...we have minor problems here and there but over all everthing is ok...we are going to have spectacular games ever..bigger than beijing and melborne... this is what we are hearing for the past two year...and here is the new one... WE ARE READY TO HOST THE OLYMPICS....

Even after a 1000 years we will still be talking about Rajasthan puppets and Calcutta cobras? Why can't they include India's emergence in the IT field?

Yes, I agree with you on one point, these games should not be happened mainly in Delhi. Instead, they should have spread the game venue accross India.
this would have led to some chaos for security/accomodation but this could have been managed.

The whole India with the help from the media has turned against Kalmadi & Co for their only crime that they made a few million na; billions of bucks since they strongly believe in the adage: 'make hay when the sun shines'! Is it not the policy of our government that we should get rid of the poverty and in the process if a few thousand people have become multi-millioners, is it not an occassion for celebrations? It is true that while basking in the glory of a once-in-a-life time opportunity and being busy in friendly back-slapping each other in their eupheria, they hardly found time to ensure the quality of work! What if a few bridges collapse in the CWG villages or a few stray dirty dogs (Hope Maneka will tolerate the impertinance) or a few reptlies make it their temporary abode? Many people die in India due to accidents in un-manned rly.crossings, rash driving, snake bites etc every day. So what if a few people die in CWG campus due to rabbies, snake bites or roof collapse? And pray, why blame Dixit Madam if she did not find time to inspect what was happening in her back yard during the last few years since she was "too busy seving" the 'Aam Admi'and hence did not find time to look in to the extravaganza which is mainly meant for the international athelets? Army was called in last second to replace the collapsed bridge at CWG built by PWD. In spite of Army being a 24x7 all weather all problems response why are soldiers being treated shabbily? Why is a soldier retired compulsorily at an early age without a suitable alternate career or being compensated for the overall loss of his lifetime earnings while every other Govt servant retires at 60 or above despite their poor performance. Doesn’t the Govt compensate tem by paying them a handsome compensation for a VRS. Even the lowly One Rank One Pension that can partially offset the loss of overall lifetime earnings is being denied Why? Doesn’t the soldier need as much finances to bring up his children and take care of his family as anyone else in the society. Talking of finances the govt has no problem in providing Rs 70,000 crore for botched up CWG Games, Rs 80,000 crore for loan waiver, enhance pay and DA for parliamentarians. Loss of ex-chequer (Rs 50-60,000 crore) in 2G scam and other scams which surface daily do not seem to cause a financial worry to UPA but when it comes to paying the soldier they seem to have an inexplicable predicament.

where did you get this figure Rs 70,000 crores ? Its USD 6.54 billion or Rs 36,000 crores..huge chunk of this was for Delhi Development Authority..the CWG budget is only Rs.1600 crores..in this cricket crazy nation,atleast this is one good thing that has happened to other sports,or else these money would have been also swindled out in some other way... Nothing would have changed in the situation,even if CWG was not held...
Holding an international mega sports event is a soft power and winning medals in such events is the exhibition of our youth's strength and power..these things matter in today's world..
