Yep, After seeing y'day schedule I felt, since top 4 team only played each other, so today schedule confirms it, Losing team play each other for Bronze while the team won playing each other for Gold

congrats
by biswanath roy on Nov 26, 2010 09:07 AM

congrats to Ms ashwini & joseph to revive india's drive for gold after two blank days. both these athletes come from humble origins & thus one can say that it is there sincerity & sheer hard work which has helped them to get this laurel.the big names in the indian squad like bindra, narang, tejaswani sawant, saina nehwal, vikas gowda, indian hockey squad, krishna poonia etc flopped to either be out of the podium or get bronzes when they were projected as sure gold medallists.saina, bindra, sawant &narang after their CWG gold medal wins were walking on ramps & signing contracts for being brand ambassadors, in the intervening period between CWG & Asiad. this is the main cause of their flop show, as they hardly practised. india should follow the method of china whose sportspersons on winning golds in international events are not given cash awards immediately, but the same is credited to his/her account, payable after 10 years/@ the end of their international sports career.this will prevent complacency creeping in the minds.

Tintu Luka
by sunil nair on Nov 26, 2010 12:13 AM  | Hide replies

I read quite a few messages criticizing Tintu's strategy . I may not be an experienced coach but I feel the problem wasn't with strategy . There are two types of middle distance runners - the hard workers who build up stamina and conserve energy initially and the natural runners who settle into a rhythm right from the start and depend on it to get far ahead of the rest . Tintu obviously belongs to the second group and asking her to change her running style may be counterproductive . What she needs to do is build up more stamina to maintain her initial rhythm . Hopefully two years of hard work should get this talented runner ready for the olympics of 2012 . She can get a gold ( yes i meant gold and not any medal there )

i agree .. we have all experts making their opinions abt our sports person when i am certain that we heer are no distinguisehd to comment on their performance... tintu has been doing same ... she did so in cwg and now in asian ... let her give some time kid is talented and is in best of hands ... she willd evelop stamina.... lets not forget we are not provided with sufficient butritional foods with all corrupt poticians which doesnt even leave a cows feed.... !!!
