India played extremely well. It so happened that it was do or die match. Indian Hockey tem is continusouly playing from Common Wealth games and if I'm correct lost only two matches ie., One against Australia(Commonwealth) and another against Malaysia (Asiad). Unfortunately, both became proved very costly for India. In short loosing only two matches out of 15 or so played. In other words India played extremely well just it didn't happened to be our day. I heard D'souza telling in Ten Sports that the Malaysia Goal keeper is "the" best goal keeper in the world. Anyway, all is not lost for India and even though we were defeated against a smaller team no regrets because even the great Indian cricket team lost to two small nations in the last world cup ie., Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. This is game and it does happen.
Don't you think Asia deserves 3 direct entries into Olympics? Small Australian Continent has been given two seats. This current system is injustice with Asia. India played well and they will take sometime to get used to Coach Brasa's methods.

Even if there are 3 direct entries into the Olympics, India will not succeed in getting one of them. The Indian hockey team is absolutely useless and it is stupid to expect them to win any championship. This is because of the corrupt selectors and politicians who are involved in the selection process of the team. India never sends its best players for a tournament. For the last 30 years they performed very dismally.

But on a serious note, Pakistan is in finals, all the best to you and your team. Hockey will see it's golden days only when India & Pakistan take their game to several levels higher and match and beat likes of Australia, Germany & Holland.

Thrilling hockey! If Indo-Pak plays often with each other using hockey leagues, then those days are not far that we will the classic indo-pak hockey thrillers in olympics, asiads and world cups!
after our fine showing in the CWG 2010, our media, sports journalists,& our govt declared from roof tops that india has arrived as a sporting super power, & as mr gill(sports minister) india was exected to win 100medals with atleast 40 gold in asiad 2010, & be third to china(another sport superpower)& korea. so far with only 4 days remaining it does not appear we will get even 20 golds & a total tally of 60-65 medals. it is high time we stop comparing with china in every sector & get fooled by the the americans who do that.the fact is there is a vast difference between the two asian giants : china's haul tally of 329; 165 gold, india tally of 39 including 7 gold.
it appears that the so called "law of averages" caught up with the indian team. no team can win continously, one bad day will come, & today was that day.india's hopes of qualifying for the 2012 london olympics has evaporated.india was too dependent on penalty corners to get goals. in this asiad apart from som devvarman all the icon stars have flopped,whether it is bindra,narang,tejaswani sawant,saina nehwal,poonia,our archers,indian hockey team etc.it is the have nots who have given us most of the gold medals-ms sreedharan,raut,singh,bajrang lal etc.
As I have observed and said, the defense plays like a pack of school girls... pathetic defense, no coordination, no zeal, no skill- atleast that how it looks like to the viewer. And penalty conversion rate of the Indian team is bad. If we lost to malaysia, then we deserved to lose. what a shame!
India as of now has 39 medals(7 gold,12 silver,20 bronze),….14 medals short of Doha Asiad.3 gold short of last three Asiads..India is on 8th position in medal tally.
I am expecting a total medal count of 60-65 with about 16-20 gold medals at the end of 27th evening if all expectations go right.
Apart from present 7 gold,I am expecting gold in :Men’s boxing:5,Women’s :2,Atheletics:2,Kayak:1,Canoe:1,Chess 1,Squash :1,Kabaddi:2..it adds upto 22 !

1. Tarundeep Roy and Rahul Banerjee in Archery individual event 2. Vikas Gowda in discuss throw 3. Nine Indians in boxing semi finals,the losers will settle for bronze,winners will march to final 4. Women’s hockey bronze medal match against Japan 5. There are three Indians in Karate,I am not sure if any one can win a medal 6. Shooters will try in men’s skit event 7. India will play men’s and women’s Squash semi-finals,if they lose,they get bronze,if win,will be in final 8. Three wrestlers will be in fray as well..
So,hope for the best and prepare for the worst,good night…
