India as of now has 39 medals(7 gold,12 silver,20 bronze),….14 medals short of Doha Asiad.3 gold short of last three Asiads..India is on 8th position in medal tally.

I am expecting a total medal count of 60-65 with about 16-20 gold medals at the end of 27th evening if all expectations go right.

Apart from present 7 gold,I am expecting gold in :Men’s boxing:5,Women’s :2,Atheletics:2,Kayak:1,Canoe:1,Chess 1,Squash :1,Kabaddi:2..it adds upto 22 !

India:medal prospects on 24/11

1.      Tarundeep Roy and Rahul Banerjee in Archery individual event
2.      Vikas Gowda in discuss throw
3.      Nine Indians in boxing semi finals, the losers will settle for bronze, winners will march to final
4.      Women’s hockey bronze medal match against Japan
5.      There are three Indians in Karate,I am not sure if any one can win a medal
6.      Shooters will try in men’s skit event
7.      India will play men’s and women’s Squash semi-finals,if they lose,they get bronze,if win,will be in final
8.      Three wrestlers will be in fray as well..

So,hope for the best and prepare for the worst, good night…

Beating Pakistan alone is not enough
by Jaya S on Nov 23, 2010 08:23 PM  | Hide replies

Why are we so happy after we beat Pakistan that our intensity and focus on subsequent games goes down? As an Indian, I am very disappointed. I rather lose to Pakistan but win the gold.
On a different note, BCCI could have sent teams for cricket and we could have had 1 if not 2 golds more. Indian govt should have sent the cricket team if BCCI could not. What kind of govt do we have that agrees with BCCI and has no say of their own.

Now it seems,Pakistan will beat Malaysia and get the gold ultimately, they are in finals, they defeated Korea..

We also gifted Pakistan 2 gold medals in cricket thanks to our shameless thick skinned BCCI morons...

Not me. For me, defeating Pakistan beats anything in the world. However, the victory over Malaysia was important as we would have got another shot at Pakistan.

They need to learn from our cricketers.

Never really followed hockey, but as an Indian wanted them to do well. There has been a lot of fussing over it, but the results over the top nations have been dismal over the years. Now they lose to minnows like Malaysia. Compare this with our cricketers: who are world no 1 by right. And recently beat Aussies 2-0, and even in 2008 as well. And despite not playing to potential, they won against the kiwis. There is loads of talent waiting in the bench, as seen in the IPL, who can replace the seniors. And they have a killer instinct and aggro as well, as shown by the likes of Bhajji. Hope the hockey guys watch and learn

shame!!!!!
by ROBY STEPHEN on Nov 23, 2010 08:02 PM

It is a shame that we lose consistently to sides like malaysia, argentina, newzealand , belgium etc leave alone australia, england, germany, netherlands , spain etc. IHF has to act in the right direction and leave their petty politics between Kalmadi , Gill and others and try to regain the old glory. It is no consolation that we beat Pakistan but lose to all others . It is a shame.
