Vishvanathan Anand Holds his Chess World Title as of Now
by D goel on May 12, 2010 01:44 PM

D. Goel Pkl. afternoon 1.50pm. Wednesday,May 12,2010.
Sri Vishwanathan Anand has retained his World Title against his Bulgarian Challenger in Sophia Sri Topalov ie 6.5/5.5in the last Match by one point excess.
Heartiest Congrats on the feat to the Champion Anand.
In contrast Indian Cricketers had shown utterlack of fighting grit in being Defeated thrice and dropped from T-20 last Night. They failed against to stand up against Australia , West-indies and Sri Lanka in the second stage and decisively were out. They have to find out their errors as why they fail to face short pitched Fast Bouncers. This is widely lamented by Millions of Indian Fans.Better training and grit next time , is all that one can hope.D. Goel

Anand retains title
by x on May 12, 2010 10:40 AM  | Hide replies

It is said that-

WHEN THE OCASSION GETS TOUGH TOUGHEST BECOMES THE TOUGH

Anand has proved it beyond doubt

The entire 12 rounds of the competition in this world championship was definitely very tough, but the mental toughness of Anand brought us the ANAND in the toughest and the greatest measure.

GOOD..kepp it up and keep on winning many more titles

Ways to honour Vishy Anand!
by VASUDEVAN V on May 12, 2010 10:38 AM  | Hide replies

1. BCCI, who waste crores of rupees on the `good for nothing' cricketers can give a huge cash award to Vishy Anand for a change. After all, Anand is a truly global champion for the past 22 years and deserves to be honoured.
2. Sahara group can give Anand a villa in their Ambi Valley. Our good for nothing cricketers have been given houses by the Sahara Group in Ambi Valley for achieving next to nothing!
3. The CM of Tamilnadu goes to Delhi to demand Cabinet posts for his sons, daughters, grand-daughters, nephew, grand-nephews et al. For a change, he can go to Delhi to recommend Bharat Ratna for Vishy Anand, the one and only true world champion from our country. The CM and other Maharashtra politicians clamoured for Bharat Ratna to be conferred on Tendulkar when he scored a double hundred in an one-dayer. Certainly the 4-time World Champion and one of the greatest chess palyers of all times deserves it more!
4. I do not know how many are aware that Srinivasan, the owner of the Chennai Super Kings in IPL, is the President of the Chess Federation of India. For a change, the President of the Chess Federation of India can turn his attention to Chess and honour Anand in a befitting manner at the all India level, not with a mere chariot parade in Chennai city with no cash awards.
5. Last but not the least, all Indians should stand and salute this truly great Champion!

Your demand to honour Anand is an impossible. His achievements have put him beyond our ability to honour him in any way.

VV,
Anand is a class act, he is a true world champion in every respect. He can lose, be down , come back and domiante under pressure. Above all he doesn't even insult his bitter opponents. A thing or two we must learn from his book !!.

Anand has said many many times that he has nothing against cricketers getting attention because he has gotten the attention that he deserves as well. (check out his interview with karan thapar who tried his best to make a controversy and Anand handled him just as strategically as he does in his game)

While I appreicate your enthusiam in respecting Anand, do not belittle Sachin's achievement. He has strived just as hard to make India proud for just as many years.

Anand is a world champion beyond comparison, Sachin you can say still misses that feather in the similar caps that they both wear.

Anand and Sachin are two doens of Indian sports and Bharath Ratna or not Respect is something that they truly deserve.

Facts cannot be belittling GS. Anand, being a gentleman, will never say that cricketers are over-paid media created icons of our society!
