should be a sporstperson period ....yes the politicos can work under him if they want to contribute instead of filling their pockets and doing their sons , daughters and relatives a favour by giving lucrative contracts like Kalmadi does to his son Limba ram for archery as someone mentioned PT usha for athletics PArgat Singh for hockey P K BAnerjee for football etc etc

it was just an example , it could be any sportsperson plus that too there should be an election among the sportspersons standing for those posts too not a simple nomination

Exact same thing I too was thinking. Even life time imprisonment is less than 12 years, and these guys claiming 12 years as 'limited' term is an absolute joke. These creatures are trying to fool fellow people. This thing actually should be 4-5 years, in my opinion. These jokers have made Indian sports non-existent, and the only sport Cricket which Indians know how to play, is considered as a non-sport by international olympic association. May god help India.
Lalu has ensured that his represents Bihar and with his influennce has again put him in the DD team. Power can do anything. Maybe that day is not too far when cows owned by him represent Bihar.

This guy VK Malhotra is our Archery Board Chief. What he knows about archery, why can't we have Limba Ram as the chief. Malhotra can't hold a bow. He is upset over Mr Gill. What to say..Its a joke. Keep fighting Mr Gill.

VK Malhotra is good Archer.Uma Bharti was the coach.He know how to hold his "Dandekar" at 45 degree and shoot syrup.
It is a good move in fact it should be 8 years for the NSF Preseidents too. I doubt wheather the sports minister has the guts, power and will to implement. If it is implemented no doubt it will be for good and betterment of Indian Sports. But after all it is INDIA. Mr.Gill I challange you to change my view.
It's high time that not only the president of the any sport body - be it national, state or district - but the entire office-bearers's terms should be restricted to two terms at a stretch. They should not be allowed to continue to stay in that association beyond that period in any capacity. Otherwise they jump from one post to another to continue their hold in the association. Badmdinton mastero Prakash Padukone has been the lone person so far who just stepped aside after he completed his two terms some years back. Others like Kalmadi, Malhotra, V.K.Verma, Chauthela etc don't want to leave for obvious reasons.
