I agree

I have seen all the indian matches and they are doing quite good, but defence is something they need to work on. The coach is doing a real good job.

defence - extremely poor
midfeild - a bit less than fair as no back up and helping hand when defence is in danger.Has to be more free flowing.
Forward - good but has to improve against gaints like ausis, spain, england

Bench players - fair

these are the observations of current world cup matches

Its POWER GAMES
by SarvamKrishnarpanam on Mar 08, 2010 07:58 PM  | Hide replies

Any sport today is found to be POWER GAME, be it Hockey, Football, Tennis or Cricket (i had no choice to bring it in)..Indians are generally not that strong in physique, all our sports legends are and have been traditionally great artists with style and flair, but in mordern day games what counts is agility, stamina, strength and power..we are not athletic by nature, our kids pick up sports at young age but are reluctant to pick up atheletics..i read in another post that instead of encouraging kids to take up thier desired sport at a very young age let them start to take part in atheletics and may be compete in more than one sport, these are paramount to success in todays games

Indians are as strong.. Our body structure may be different but I don't think hockey is a pure power sport. It's a stamina sport.
