Roger Federer: The Great
by VASUDEVAN V on Jun 23, 2010 09:40 AM  | Hide replies

Roger Federer has won 16 Grand Slams and has been to 24 Grand Slam Quarter Finals without a break.
I have been following Tennis since 1962, and therefore can say with some authority that Roger Federer is the Greatest ever.
Therefore, Roger Federer has to be the favourite to win any tournament he enters.

For a long period now Federer has become synonymous to Tennis. None do have that much composed and delightful character than Federer. He is a true role model for all generation and a player without controversy.
There is no dip in form or age catching up his game. Every game can’t be won by any Champions. He will loose some, still no one from the current lot can’t claim his status.

Falla falls

Roger's form seems to be very poor. What should be a routine match looked like some finals.

A Good Come Back

Its a terrible start for Federer in Wimbledon.
Hope his survival from first round exit will be a confidence boosting effort.
Wimbledon is for Federrer, no doubt

But don't expect too much from Federer. He is on decline. His prime time is over now and now young kids can relax.

Anurag, I thought you were a knowledgeable Tennis fan like me. How can you talk like that?
How can a player who has won 16 Grand Slams on all kinds of surfaces, and has entered 24 consecutive Grand Slam Semi-finals be ever on decline? You are not influenced by Nadal fans, are you?
Federer is the Greatest ever, and is the hot favourite to win the title at Wimbledon too. His poor show in the Clay Court season and at Halle, and his apparently tough first round match here at Wimbledon are all parts of his grand strategy to make opponents feel comfortable. Do not worry. Federer is going to win.

Correction: Federer has reached 24 consecutive Grand Slam Quarter Finals, and not Semi Finals. The error is regretted.
I don't think anyone apart from me, and some other really knowledgeable fans like bango tango know of this!

Roger, the great
by shailendra borkar on Jun 22, 2010 09:51 AM

It is our over expectation from him that, he should have won each & every match. But, the fact is, everybody has ups & downs in life.

Surely, the match played by him in first round a good test for him and hope he will prepare better for rest of the matches.
