whats your problem? If bengalis like football they will speak about it. if you dont like football go and watch cricket.
LOss of Sapin was shocking. I saw the match. Having dominated the entire proceedings and then loosing it is really sad. Hope they will make it up in the next two games.
The Germany's match was the game I have seen in last few world cups. They were attacking like pack of hyenas, coming from all sides and taking Australians by complete surprise. They look like a complete winner.I would be disappointed if they dont make it to semis.
All the Africans teams are very very good. They are physically very strong and have very good foot/head skills.Ivory coast dominated Portugal completely giving Ronaldo absolutely no chance to even touch the ball while Nigeria made Argentina look like an ordinary team.Nigeria's goalie is going to become filty rich in coming years.Go Africa Go.
The most lacklusture performance came from European champs-Spain.They are like Indian IPL team, champs in India and 1st round looser in world cup.
Asians teams seriously lack physique.Japan, korea just dont have the physique to become world champs.Football is a physical game, and its becoming very tough to deal with Tyson like african players. All dribbling skills just goes for a toss.
Waiting for Messi magic today, he had atleast 5 chances in the last match. He is a good player, but has burden of expectation of 3billion football lovers.

Spain has to bring back Cesc Fabregas for all the future matches if at all they want to win matches. fabregas should be in the starting 11 and will provide the key for their success.

Cesc and Xavi are in d same mould..so no need to bring Cesc unless Xavi is injured or playin out of sorts... Spain shd revert back to 4-4-2 with Torres partnering Villa and Alonso playin DM....
are increasingly looking like strong favoarites this time too...great tenacity..unputdownable spirit..hope they win the cup..brazil and argentina are overrated and inconsistent.
india lost to South korea in Seoul olympics where the game was almost introduced fresh. it beat pakistan who had overcome india in the earlier rounds. korean sports authorities managed, motivated and rewarded their players to the hilt. in sports any thing can happen. that depends upon the team's morale.
india has a reservoir of talents for football. it needs several leaders at every state to oversee the development of it's talents to international level. the leaders need to be hungry and and conscious. but we got politicians as the heads of most the state federation. they do not feel shy that 60 % of it's people live at 2 $ a day and that 30 % of the nation is illeterate.
some one or set of leaders who is ashamed of the status will only have the motivation to raise the country.

India can be a world class team only in cricket for 2 reasons :- 1. Cricket does not need much of physical effort and 2. Cricket is not played seriously in more than 15 countries.
Soccer is a physical game. You need to stand shoulder to shoulder and run hard (except for the goalkeeper, perhaps) all through the 45 minutes of 2 sessions each. It is not like cricket where you take rest in standing positions most of the time.
You would notice that the moment dribbling skills was taken out of hockey with the arrival of astro-turf, India has tumbled the ranks in hockey. It is no more a skill game but one of power and stamina. We are not built for such games. No point in trying our hand at things where we cannot outshine others.
Uncertainty, alone is not responsible for upsets. what is evident is the zeal, enthusiasm and do and die situation for those lesser mortals like Cameroon, Uruguay, and so on, now the latest to add is Swiss, in the said list. over confidence sometimes works hard, is what is further reflective of the losing sides, like Spain. as such, so long as human effort would rein in the statistics of past. so be prepared for more upsets and that is what makes the game most interesting and captivating. long live soccer.
Thanks Mr Bikash for running down the memeory lane right from 1982 onwards. Had closely followed each of the WCs thereafter and each matach u desribed brought back the old memoroes.
