good game from korea
by prem thomas on Jun 16, 2010 04:07 PM

Even if the north koreans lost the match, they did a good job against Brazil. Personally I support the brazilian team, but koreans defended well yesterday proving to be a threat to the other nations. WAKA WAKA NORTH KOREA!!!

North Korea
by aishwarya patil on Jun 16, 2010 12:21 PM

North Korea is a virtually unknown commodity.
Last time they qualified for World Cup was in 1966, where they surprised every one with their speed and attacking play. They shocked the world by defeating Italy 2-0. They reached Quarter Final stage, at which they lost to Eusabio's Portugal 5-2, but they impressed everyone.
Here too, we should not be surprised if they change their style from total defense to total attack in the next game, and surprise everyone. They certainly have it in them, as they demonstrated in last night's game.
As for Brazil, they never looked like World-beaters, though the first goal was simply awesome.

MESSIE
by ALLADI on Jun 16, 2010 11:18 AM

After completion of 1st leg of the tournament it is confirmed that Messie is much more ahead than other two great players i.e. Ronaldo and Kaka to show individuals skill . I'm sure Messie will be the player of the tournament and will be able to make Argentina world cup champion with the help of his personal abilities like Maradona who made Argentina world cup champion in the year 1986 with unforgetable sparkling performances. CHEERS MESSIE.

Encouragement for R & D
by venkatasubbaiah shankar on Jun 16, 2010 11:07 AM

Our system does not agree to do Research and development. When we talk about europe or chine,Japan and other developed countries you just see the effort and thought that has happened behind that. Our businessmen and including we indians want immediate solution and result for all the problem. We don't have long term plan and strategy. Where as these countries will plan for next 20-25yrs. Until these things will not happen our country will not have any future nor for our future generation also.

Tell me in which field india is shining. Don't tell india doing well in
Software and IT. I know what kind of jobs these people are doing(High paid slaves as far as indian salary standard is considered). I just want to tell everybody that indian are not creative in their work. Our system itself is like that. There is no proper encouragement for creative work

our cricketers do not need any support as they are boisterous, arrogant and play only for money and for their country. Samll countries like Ivory Coast have qualified on merit. Our religion is cricket yet we cannot take the lead.

We are lazy
by Prasad Damodaran on Jun 16, 2010 09:11 AM  | Hide replies

Brazil, Argentina and other South American countries were colonies of the Spanish, French and the British, they obviously took the hard game of soccer (football) into their culture and we as Indians ofcourse the lazy guys preferred playing the lazy men's game of Cricket even though the Britishers played great football.

Mr Prasad,
India plays Football, but does not represent in the world cup, as we are not upto the other country standards.
You need to understand that Indians are not physically well built as their counterparts in south america or africa.Mainly because we are not a completely meat eating country, so all these go on to determine the physical ability of a human being.
There should be football matches only for vegetarians, then we shine.

I only mean to say that Indians are also human, but the humans at south america, africa and europe are much well built humans. We still excel in sports like chess, which show mental ability.
