Indeed the game was tough. Both teams played very well. But truly the cup went to spain due to referee's faulty decisions. When in extra time Arjen Robben went for goal, a spanish player stopped him by holding him so as the spanish goalkeeper will get the time to stop the ball in the D area. This was a complete blunder, as this was a penalty kick for dutch. The referee gave many yellow cards to dutch against few for spain. This was total injustice for the dutch. Hence in next world cup electronic aids are must required to stop the deliberate blunder's done by referee's.
You need to be in one of the stadiums in Germany during Bundesliga matches to understand the fever which football generates:

As far as I watched when the european teams played, they looked more like kick boxing than any sport played with ball.
Really njoyed for the past one month....It was such a nice event, and organized in a well manner, thaks to FIFA and South africa....
What a class of stylish game Spain has..... In Muller,Forlan,gyan - what a wonderful real stars...... Overall the three top class teams ended with top three placings with the deserved order....
last one month i fogot the whole world and was fully live up with this mega event.....have to wait two more years for Euro and another couple of years for world cup......
Thanks FIFA for such a wonderful event....According to me ,no other sport will give such an entertainment or craze.....

That is why Asia is great. The economy power is shifting towards ASIA.. those countries are playing shootball except Germany and France, rest of are almost at bankruptsy stage. Don't u see that.. Now, u admire what Asia is.

Well deserved victory.Atleast Spain could overcome the rough tactics adoptrd by the Netherlands coach and players....to win the cup forcibly...but guys it is not so easy to beat Spain like that.The Dutch should feel lucky that the referee did not give marching orders to Nigel de Jong who kicked Spain's Xabi Alonso in the chest.The Netherlands who are famous for their total football played rough football throughout the final.Well its all over for now till we meet again in Brazil afetr four years...but by that time the world might change.

Spain played superbly, and deserved to win in what was a rather ill tempered match. It was a surprise to see the rather cool Dutch players play rough football, so unlike them. MAYbe thr pressure of the big event got to them. It is sad that they lost 3rd time in finals, maybe next time they may win the WC.
Spain was the most complete team, well served in all areas and had the players with the star power for each position. All in all a well organised World Cup by South Africa.
