After a great match government has announced 1 lakh award. If our cricketersfail also they get 1 crore. Please to promote our national game pay them 25 lakhs each or a property. I think the corporates have to come forward and announce award if government fails.
Great hockey by India and if the boys continue in the same spirit they should win the world cup. Even if they do not we will not blame them but government for not providing facility, coaching and money as motivation.
The second half ,india played too defensive after scoring four goals.That led openings for pakistan to minimie the margin,otherwise all the way Indian play.
Congrats for winning against Pakistan. Though the score line was 4-1, the Indian team played very very well throughout the game. In fact we could have scored more goals. India had possession for more than 75% of the time. the defence was excellent. I wish that our boys play similarly against all other teams and qualify for the semi finals. Krishnan- Yes. India played a good game and surprised the Pakistanis in the first half with their aggression and drying up the Pakistani moves.
However, as coach Basra put it, they were a bit lethargic in the second half. There is scope for improvement. It always feels great to have a win under your belt.
They will be tested by the australians. I am sure, coach Basra has some ideas to get over that huddle.
A win against the Aussies will put every other team in the tournament on notice - that india is stronger and they need to pay attention. A loss should be OK too, provided we make the semis.
One day India will win and another day Pakistan will. But, it is sure that Pakistani Hockey Team is much better than the Pakistani Cricket Team. Because Pakistani cricketers are famous for match fixing.
