I wonder how election commission has not found and punished for voting in many general elections for voting by posing as an INDIAN when GOVERNEMENT has not accepted him as an INDIAN
If Vishy was born an OBC, the Congress and DMK would have glorifed him and made him a household symbol of success. But then unfortunately for him he was born to a Brahmin couple.
Were he born to a Vanniyar couple, the PMK would have by now held protest rallies all over TamilNadu burning Sibal's effigies and advocated the cause of "Social Justice" and decried the insult meted out to another fellow Vanniyar. Ramadoss Sr. and Jr. would have written to the PM condemning the HRD ministry for "thereby insulting the crores of OBCs".
But then as Vishy is neither a Vanniyar nor an OBC nor a Dalit nor a Muslim he finds no support in either the nationalist Congress or the DMK or PMK of the state he hails from.

When Dr. Srinivasan Varadan got the Nobel Prize for Mathematics two years ago, he was not felicitated by DMK/Mr. Karunanidhi, even though he is a Tamilian born in Tamil Nadu. This was just because he is a Brahmin.

Because of the same Indian bureaucracy millions of NRIs are being harassed (since June 2010) towards the new requirement of surrender (of one's old Indian passport) certificate when one applies to get an Indian visa !!
And because of those same type of govt ministers/officials and their bureaucracies Indian is far behind China !!

Vishy is quite simply the best sportsperson India has ever produced. Tendulkar comes a close 2nd. (Please remember Chess is played in over 160 countries, and our man is the sole CHAMP. 4 times world champion in 3 different formats, no less. A comprehensive player with the widest opening repertoire and a deep calculating ability. He's beaten Kramnik who has beaten the legendary Kasparov).
School children in Europe recognize Anand and his feats and they have immense respect and admiration for him. He is the sole reason behind many people recognizing India a superpower in mental ability and mind games. Unfortunately, in India they give more attention to Dhoni's marriage than Anand's victory in Sofia where he beat the Bulgarian challenger Veselin Topalov, in his own backyard. In CHESS.. its equivalent to killing a lion in its own den.
He merely works out of SPAIN to avoid lengthy and cumbersome travel from India to Europe, back and forth. A majority of the SUPER GM tournaments are held in Europe and it makes ample sense to have a base in Europe. Thats about his only connection to Spain.
He should be awarded the BHARAT RATNA... anything else is a disgrace. Questioning his citizenship is unpardonable.
• Please accept Spain Citizenship or move to US and become an American. • Surrender your Indian passport and send it to Sonia Gandhi’s Italy address, copy to Karunanidhi’s address (there are two personal addresses- so send to both places) and Kapil’s Swiss Bank address if you can find it. (this is more challenging than winning World Chess championship) • Either change your caste to OBC or something of that sort or its even better if you change your religion to either Sonia’s or convert to Islam. • Declare all Indian Brahmins are useless suckers and blame all the India’s problem’s are due to them.
