3 Cheers to Team India. It was brilliant effort and acheivement from these young lads. Som and Rohan would step in into the shoes of Leander and Bhupathi in the days to come !!!
India making it to Davis Cup World Group is really something to cheer about. But it is not quite correct to give all the credit to Somdev (but I like the boy!) as the title of this news story does. Somdev alone did not lead India into the World Group -- remember Bopanna had defeated De Voest in the first rubber.
did anyone notice he came back from 2 sets down but what we have in media all day in sports category - yuvraj and cricket (joke of a game) and his father running for power LOL

yes this is great. but without support and competition in India, he will phase out. to get to the top level (like Fed), you need a lot of professional support. he has a lot of talent no doubt.

problem is we dont have a concept of athletics in India such as at college/school level neither do we have professional sports recognition.. so there is no way he can keep up. He will end up moving to an international country but still playng for india.

politics and caste system have stopped many youngsters and good players to come at international level
