4 hours and 38 minutes, its awful, wonderful, I watched the match, a true Davis cup match, WELL PLAYED. Even Paes has not played a marathon match like this. Only Ramanathan Krishnan played a match of 3 hours 52 min which he lost. A TREMENDOUS EFFORT. WELL DONE

The match between Ramanathan Krishnan and Thomas Koch of Brazil in the Davis Cup final played at the then Madras (now called Chennai) in 1960's (I don't remember the exact year) is one of the best in Davis Cup history. Krishnan was down 2 sets and trailing in the third set, when he cam back to win the match and put India in the Challenger Round against Australia. He did not LOSE as you state.
