At least she doesn't offer any excuses after her losses. She knows her limits and try to do the best every time she appears on the court. What can one do if Pennetta plays like she played today? Sania could have beaten her any other day....It was just another unfortunate day.....period

A day could be unfortunate but 6-0 6-0 is pathetic. Had it been 6-3 6-9 6-4, I would have considered it to be an unfortunate day but not with this result.

I meant 6-7, perhaps selected the wrong keystroke. Thanks for correcting. Why don't coach Sania dude!!!

give a second padma award or khel ratna
by Kalyan Satya on Sep 03, 2009 12:27 AM  | Hide replies

she deserves a khel ratna award for being the only female indian to have gone through so many initial stages in the grand slams and having failed to pass through the 2nd rounds most of the times. Sania makes it to second round is front page news..loses in second round is a small parah in the sports page section..

give her a land for her future proposed sports academy, giver her money..everything were as you have former olympians who have bought glory to our country withering away, begging in bylanes of cities for a living..

such hypocracy..........

her nose stud and skirts are more famous than her achievements..what a parody that her engagement hogs the limelight of tv channels and websites when we still have soo many struggling to get a square meal a day..well any news that involves a celebrity is better news

Come on, like it or not the fact is that SHE IS THE ONLY INDIAN FEMALE TENNIS PLAYER currently on the world scene, and in fact barring Devburman only SINGLES TENNIS PLAYER FOR INDIA in world scene.

Agreed she hasn't won many matches but when you look at it from Indian point of view, its big acheivement

As a great fan of Sania......
by Bhasmasur Khan on Sep 03, 2009 12:05 AM  | Hide replies

I'am crushed and disappointed.....for her talent, to lose to someone like Penetra is shocking and depressing..

I hate to say it, but i have lost hope in this girl....i have been one of her loyal fans, hoping against hope that she would turn it around and start making it to round 3 and round 4 of major grand slams.....but it was just an illusion!!

She is utterly disappointing and shockingly stagnant in her game and her career.....as a fan i have lost hope completely....and i will stop following her career henceforth with expectation and excitement.....
Henceforth, if she loses early, i'll be neutral...if she wins and does well, i'll take it as a pleasant surprise....

Dunno about your sporting credentials but you definitely are a tennis illiterate...

There was a time when Sania was matching the top 20 players shot for shot about 4 years back....2005 and 2006 to be precise...she fuelled expectations and people became her fans...

Also, Penetta is a world number 10 but is definitely not good enough to beat bagel Sania twice.......
What i meant is that she is definitely an underachiever and had she played to potential, the scoreline would have been far different though not the result....

6-0 6-0 Nothing could be more worst than that.

Anyways good luck for mixed doubles Sania. Hope Bhupathi could make you win atleast few games in the match.
