Painful, right? Truth is always painful:). ..and cheats will always support cheats!
Indians should bear in mind that athletics and other games do not lend themselves to fooling the public as cricket does! It is only in this game that a player, even after scoring a duck (if he's a batsman) or failing to take even a single wicket (if he's a bowler) still manages to justify his failure by saying he was "out of form" (whatever that means!). And the foolish public too has a short-term memory, forgetting the cricketer's failures easily and putting them on a pedestal and worshipping them! The result? These undeserving cricketers continue to remain celebrities despite their poor performance, and make more money off the field than on it through ads. Contrast this with the plight of athletes: they slog all the year round for a single day's event, yet without being sure that they would win even a bronze medal! And celebrity status? No way! Once they fail to win a medal they lapse into oblivion! While the undeserving players of a game called "Cricket" continue to be glorified despite their poor performance. What a tragedy!
The Indian Weightlifting Federation must not make the mistake of supposing that weightlifting is a glorified sport like cricket! Hence, they should be stringent in the selection of weightlifters and ensure that those selected by them do not take steroids!
