Anyone tired? same, same old. we all knew anyway 2nd rd crashout
by C Kr on Jun 25, 2009 11:23 AM  | Hide replies

I or II round crashout is the best one can get from Sania. Mediocrity at its worst.

So many people keep going on about 'at least Indian has come so far' - to what, the II round after so much hype?

How low must we keep our standards? Best in India, first Indian woman etc does not matter jack in terms of achievement.

Is this all we aim for and comfort ourselves - 'at least an Indian woman has come so far...'? No wonder we have no winners.

Kids from war torn countries younger than Sania have won GSlams - more than one title. She had enough support, and she does I round crashes at Tier III tournaments, and loses the meaningless doubles right after.

Come on people, how long will you tolerate this? Do not herald such achievements - they mean nothing.

Sania Mirza... An over-rated female
by rajmohan on Jun 25, 2009 11:22 AM  | Hide replies

It comes no surprise to know that Sania Mirza has crashed out of the Wimbledon yet again this time.

Infact she is just a Media created Hipe, on which she is building Bank Balances.

Give her Hyderabad Tennis Stadium and Opponents like some Malaysian or Korean players (who are rated no where in the World Ranking) and see how she storms in to the final and wins it too...thereby stealing all the limelight in the India Tennis Circuit. Players like Saina Nehwal as correctly mentioned by Rajeev Venkat, are the ones, who need the support and encouragement. Banking upon a few WTA tournament wins, and getting Add Contracts is what Sania Mirza all about..trying to fool around Indian Tennis Fans and making some quick money before entering Bollywood, fooling Movie Fans and then Marrying....

Sania is overrated player by Indian Media
by hokuram on Jun 25, 2009 11:21 AM

It is Indian media who created her. They started projecting since her ranking in 30s. In this highly competitive world of women tennis anything less than 10 do not count. As an example how many of us can name players 5 rank above and below her? It seems her glamour not her play is of importance to media.

Sania losing is sad, more disappointing than T20 team losing.

Unlike Sania
by Tushar Ray on Jun 25, 2009 11:12 AM

Somewhere the spunkiness is not there. She looks jaded, not interested. The dress she's wearing looks like she's got it from young inmates of some asylum. Her engagement has done her in. Guess it's time to say goodbye to her. Thank you for the enjoyment & pride you've given us Sania. Never thought i'd root for an Indian girl in the cut throat international tennis circus.
