Mr. Anurag Rathore,
According to you Roddick played well but Federer won luckily. Last year Nadal won but not on luck. Why two different views for two five set matches. That shows you are chamcha of nadal and you hate Federer. And coming to being junior I think you dont understand english. Kishore has written that Federer has achieved a lot in the span of 7 years. That means even Nadal plays for another 10 years and wins 30 Grandslams he will still not be considered better than Federer if he doesnot achie in 2 more years what Federer has achieved in 7 years. And as you rightly said I think you are very close to Nadal(Hey they made the Gay Law legal) why is that you always crib on Federers crying. Sportsmen also cry with ecstasy and the emotions they show are out of the pressure that is released after winning. Couch potatoes who know only writing blogs will not know what sport is all about. You and Aishwarya Patil have reached a stage where you have become a nusiance on the rediff blog. You dont understand the game nor you understand English.

As I told after last year Wimbledon it's not easy for Nadal to retain their number 1 spot for long like Federer. Since last year winbledon when people were claiming Federer has finished Federer has won 3 GS while Nadal only 1. I would be surprise In Nadal wins any more GS except French Open.

@Anurag, federer is yet to win a GS while defeating Nadal. Fedex is a graceful player no doubt, but do not write off Nadal. He's a true champ

No, I had them in mind. What i was trying to say is that since last year W'don Fedex has won 3 GS titles but he didn't defeat Nadal in any one of them. Nadal has such a mental hold on Fedex. it will be a shame if his knees don't hold up :-(

How long 1 year, 2 year or may be 3 year more!
If he wins 2 GS each year still he will reach only 12 after 3 years.
Last year Nadal was on his peak. You can say it was best year of his career so far. But he could only manage 2 GS last year.
While Federer has won 3 GS in a year thrice.

buddy, dont try and be a soothesayer...i did not say that nadal will eventually break federer's record, u r assuming yourself...but it cant be denied that he has got a very good chance, even though he has bad knees at this point.....and as per u, nadal will only play for another 3 years athough he has just turned 23....his knees will be right, do not worry..even roddick has been playing with tendonitis for the last 2 years...finally, we will see what happens, but if u disregard the fact that nadal has had an edge over federer, both physical and mental, in grand slams, then i dont know what 2 say...perhaps u should be called a hardcore fan of federer.....

Federer - unsportsman like
by ByTheWay way on Jul 07, 2009 12:44 PM  | Hide replies

While Fed was doing a round in the court with the cup rod was clapping for him. Even the star-sports commentators [amritraj & allen] were hoping fed would stop by roddick and give him a pat. but it wasnt surprising to see him move past a clapping rod without even a glance. Also how come someone appear for a slam final with 15 printed on his jacket. some may say it is his confidence, but to me it is sheer arrogance and disrespect for his opponents.

i dont know about the '15' part but yes he could have acknowledged roodick and possible thanked him.....but well he won and pointing a finger may not be good...i remember that famous scene at the aus open when nadal came to him and acknowledged him as the best player...but as i said, one cannot point a finger on this thing..

He wished Rod good luck for the next Wimbledon, friends!
He said I wish him back and win here.
Well, I also think if he could have patted him for his immanse strength, for his brilliant display of playing. I think I could have done that if I were him.
I wonder what was going in his mind then. More besides, they are habitiual of these kind of situations as they face them often.

Roddick Vs Federer
by rashmi mukewar on Jul 07, 2009 11:51 AM  | Hide replies

While Federer showed class neither did he do anything extra to get into teh skin of Roddick'
s game a.k.a his aces. Roddick was well prepared and did good to reach the finals, all he had to do was to ensure that he did not make any mistakes. He made only 2 and those cost him the game.It was only a mind game and Roddick lost that otherwise on the tennis front he was superb. I guess Roddick took on extra pressure where as the onus was on Federer on whom was teh entire focus on if he could get more than 15 titles.
Had Roddick realised this he wouldnt have made those costly two mistakes and would have taken home the trophy. The point is when two opponents are equal it becomes a mind/strategy game and Federer won in that. Roddick played with a big heart but should have used his brains justa bit more.Well for sure i would be following Roddick's game more closely, i simply love to watch his superb aces...they are brilliant.

This Wimbledon title was technically won by Federer. But the real winner is Roddick.
Nothing to take away from Federer though, he showed why he is the greatest.
But as far as this Wimbledon title was considered, Roddick deserved it more than Federer.

How can say that. Federer played hard to get his points and nobody gave him points. The how could u say Roddicks game. I agree roddick played well, but then he never broke federer's game in the 5th set. ........that pretty well makes the point.

Last 3 Yrs Fed v Nadal
by Vikas D on Jul 07, 2009 04:06 AM  | Hide replies

Grass Court Matches 3
Federer won 2
Nadal won 1

Hard Court matches 3
Federer won 2
Nadal won 1

Clay Court matches 7
Federer won 2
Nadal won 5

Total 13 Matches
Federer won 6
Nadal won 7

Nadal DID NOT dominate Federer completely. When Federer wins, it is one sided but when Nadal wins, it is always close and thats why all the disappointment for Federer and his fans.

On Hard Courts and Grass Courts, Federer has dominated Nadal, but Nadal did not reach the finals of many tournaments. Nadal reaches finals only on clay court tournaments, thats why more losses for Federer. More than half the matches played between these two have been played on Clay. Nadal is a better clay courter but not a greater player than Federer.

Just because Nadal has better head-to-head record against Federer does not make him greater. Richard Krajicek had a better record against Pete Sampras (Krajicek also won a wimbledon like Nadal) but that does not make him greater than the great Pete Sampras.

Hehe! You think you are intelligent! Yes! seems do!

Why dont you take last 4 years ?
Why dont you take last 2 years ?
Why dont you take grand slam encounter stats ?
Cos this (3 years) is the closest bet of Fed-Nadal encounters, In all other 3 statistics.. There is a glaring domination by Nadal :)
So if 1 aspect of statistics Nadal slightly dominates Federer and in others he dominates more :)
Domination seems being even accepted by you :) Though not completely

I am not trying to be intelligent reddy :-)
I am only showing a good trailer to an average movie. But whatever I have written is TRUE, isn't it? What I am saying is that, people tend to be under the impression that Nadal has defeated Federer every single time they meet. Some stats to shake them down. As you too agree with greatness of Federer, I have no qualms.

Very true observation! Again people always talk about Nadal's fitness but look at Federer. He has not missed any Grandslam due to injury in last 8 years and contested 21 consecutive semifinals in grandslam. Can Nadal match this feet? (i.e. performance and level of fitness.) I doubt because with his power game he is more injury prone. In short,Fedex belongs to Elite class and Nadal is a Worker class.

Sania should take Roddick as an example
by blue on Jul 07, 2009 02:28 AM  | Hide replies

May be Sania should take Andy Roddick as an example and hire a decent coach and loose some weight and work on her serve. She still says her dad is her coach, that is unbelievable. To be on top in this tough game, you need to spend some money to hire best coach, if you try to cut corners you can never be the best.
