if roddick served like this nadal will falter
by karthik ram on Jul 06, 2009 10:50 PM  | Hide replies

roger federer is the world best returner of services ever..even roger cant return roddick's serve yesterday ....then nadal will never return the roddick serve .....nadal is powerful hitter when it comes to rally ..but his service is very poor one ....only roger cannn..roddick is the superstar to strech the legend to maximum limit ...rafa is a poor guy even cant participate in wimbeldon...nadal is in bed now after powerful hitting and losing to soderling..nadal is going to retire early if he continues his power hitting

well nadal probably needs your advise on how to survive in the game...he is only 22. Even if he continues to be injury pronr, then also he has atleast 5 good years left in him....and considering his play, you can bet that he will win another 7-8 slams coz other than federer, i do not think there is anyone on professional tour who can sidetrack him, barring few upsets..

Guys understand, Nadal never attacks. His tennis is always defensive. He works on others weakness, rather than his strenths. Start attack your opponent , you dont have to run ..this much. Soldering would have defeated NADAL, even if he was not injured. Becasue that game was so superb and h just blunted Nadal

Fedex/federer is not just lucky, if you have seen the match then you would have noticed Federer was looking almost fresh even at the end of the 5h set whereas Roddick looked like he is going to collapse i think that is federer's strength he has immense stamina, i am no expert but that was what i felt he just makes it look so easy and looks like he is always prepared for a tough 5 setter.

i agree that yesterday, roddick played really well overall and infact played better than fedex...but he faltered at the key moment...that is what happens to everyone while playing against federer, except for a certain rafael nadal...

True!!Only 2 bad mishits and not a game cost poor Roddick the title. He even surprised himself more than anybody else with his performance. But very good for mens tennis because now this will not only be Fedex and Nadal show.

Kudos to both the players for ensuring that high quality grass court tennis is the ultimate winner. Congrats to Federer for the incredible win and stamina. I feel really sorry for Roddick. He simply played great tennis and equally deserved to win. Its only that sports can sometimes be so cruel to individuals. I hope that Roddick wins the singles title at Wimbledon some day, preferably next year.
I am also saddened to see that serve and volley players in Wimbledon are very rare to be seen. The likes of Edberg, Becker, Sampras....who were masters in this art really made Wimbledon a very exciting affair. Though the likes of Federer, Roddick and Nadal are great players, they rarely prefer to come to the net. In tennis there is nothing more fascinating to see than quality serve and volley grass court tennis

Serve and volley sucks. It's kind of cheating actually where you cunningly rush to the net and place the ball
