Another viewpoint on her achievement
by Rajeev Iyer on Feb 15, 2009 07:21 AM  | Hide replies

There is a lot of criticism in this forum for Sani Mirza, but glad to see that there is also lots of counter-point to the critics by fans of the game who see it in the correct light and value Sania's achievements for what they truly are.

MONEY TALKS ::

For those who are criticising, and talking about the quality of the tournament / players, etc, here is a point for you to consider that will make you realise your error. For her week's efforts here, Sania, even if she loses in the final, will have earned a total in excess of Rs. 10 lakhs.

Any of you critics of Sania below shouting so much, do you earn that much in 1 month? 1 quarter? Half year? One whole year? Well she is earning it for 1 week's work. That shows you the quality of her game, and the quality of the tournament she is taking part in. And how far far far above all of you she is in terms of success levels, at such a young age. (maybe that's why you criticise - jealousy eh?)

Incidentally, for those who are braying about her being ranked above 100 etc, kindly note that in terms of prize money earned this year she is ranked 20th in the world - yes 20th!! Surprised - well its a fact - check the WTA site - and shut your mouths after that!!!! The season has only just started and her earning is over Rs 30 lakhs. Hah - in your face losers!!

if she`s married 2 muslimIIislam:SHE`LL BE FORCED INTO A bBURHKA :(

why HHhindus boys like her: why MMmuslim boys dont like&support her?
guys, this requires serious thought.

hope she will marry a HHhindu boy.

...at least she will be free...

bcoz if she is forcefully married a MMmuslim:
SHE WILL BE FORCED INTO A bbBLACK-bBURHKA,
FOR THE REST OF HER LIFE!

She is nothing , not in even 100, may be best in tennis from india, nothing to celebrate no need to hype just because she belongs to govts favourite community. Why viswanath anand, geethsethi, gopi chand, karthikeyan kapil dev ignored when they achieved more for india than this woemn who is always behind money making tournaments.

This is not just the matter of congress or the political parties if your knowledge is week then u should remember she started climbing the ladder of success only when the govt of BJP was in the centre and to acheive her achievement requires guts and finanacial aids.which our country lacks in.And today she is the inspiration for so many young girl of the country .why not after the 1983 most of the indian dint became Kapil dev.

The reason she (Mirza) is in 3 digit ranking is her long injury layoff. Mind you she is Australian open mixed doubles champion. So, she is not one tournament wonder OR not so talented player.

The reason Saina is not us famous as Sania is Tennis is more popular than badminton.

Good luck Sania. Even a top 100 ranking is a big deal and she broke top 30 an dtayed there for a long time , so noone can complain. Imagine what she went through, fatwas, cases where she had to defend her national pride. No wonder some of these guys want a total malist society to exist. Go Sania, whatever happens in the final you have amde everyone rpoud and encoraged many little girls to take up sports.
